*Some reminders for Tisha B Av:*

On Erev Tisha B Av we eat the seuda mafseket individually, on the ground, with eggs and bread

On Tisha B Av we do not bath or wash (we may wash hands up to the knuckles or if dirty)

Marital relations are restricted

We do not eat or drink (unless required for medical reasons)

We do not wear leather shoes (other leather garments are allowed)

We do not anoint (deodorant is permitted in order to remove odors)

Until midday we sit on low chairs and limit greetings to others, we also reduce mundane activities.

We do not wear tallit and tephilin during Shachrit, we wear both at Mincha.

This year where the 10th of Av falls on Erev Shabbat, there is a leniency to wash clothes immediately after fast, and to shave and take haircuts from Friday morning, bathing (including swimming) from Friday morning (some allow both from the evening), most wait for wine and meat to midday.

Wishing us all a meaningful fast and Tisha B Av - may the Temple be rebuilt speedily in our times, in the merit of Achdut and Ahavat Chinam
