Welcome to Beit Knesset Ohel Ari. Like most great moments in history the actual date our community began is lost in the winds of time. But all can agree that some time in the early 1990's a bunch of mostly British olim were looking for somewhere to daven. Haminyan Hechadash - as the new shul was named by a bank clerk when we w
ent to open an account - was open to everyone. Like most things in the early years it was done with practical simplicity; with no building , we turned wherever we were into a mikdash me׳at every week. And over the years we grew and grew .... because rather than a shul for those who had left their homes abroad it was to become a home for those who had left their shuls abroad. A home of Avodat hashem, limmud torah, derech eretz, ahavat ham vehaaretz and chesed. In 2010 we moved into our present building on Ravutski which has become a Raanana landmark. Today the shul is made up of Sabras, Olim Vatkim and Olim Chadashim from all over the world and we have a growing younger membership who are our Dor Hemshech. It is the children who grow up in this community who are our crowning glory. And so it is right and fitting that the shul bears the name of a child of this community, IDF Sgt. Ari Weiss z"l who gave his life for this country in 2002.

כמו רוב הרגעים הגדולים בהיסטוריה, התאריך האמיתי שבו נוסדה הקהילה שלנו לוט בערפל. אבל כולם מסכימים שמתישהו בתחילת שנות ה 90 חיפשו חבורה של עולים בריטים מקום למניינים קבועים .
המינין החדש (כפי שנקרא על ידי פקיד בנק כשהלכנו לפתוח חשבון) היה פתוח לכולם. בתחילת הדרך ובלי בניין, הכל נעשה בפשטות מעשית. הפכנו כל מקום בו היינו למקדש מאט שבועי.
ובמשך השנים הקהילה הלכה וגדלה... עד שבמקום להיות בית כנסת, היא הפכה לבית לכל דבר.
בית של עבודת השם, לימוד תורה, דרך ארץ, אהבת העם והארץ וחסד.
בשנת 2010 עברנו לבניין הנוכחי שלנו ברבוצקי שהוא הפך לציון דרך ברעננה.
כיום חברי בית הכנסת הם צברים, עולים ותקים ועולים חדשים מכל העולם. מספר החברים צעירים בשנות ה 20 או 30 לחייהם גודל כל הזמן והם דור ההמשך שלנו.
הילדים שגדלו בבית כנסת הם גולת הכותרת שלנו. ולכן ראוי ונכון שבית הכנסת ישא את שמו של ילד מקהילה זו, סמ"ל ארי וייס ז"ל שמסר את חייו למען המדינה בשנת 2002.
