Chodesh Tov!

The yeshiva marked Rosh Chodesh Nissan with an all-night mishmar.

Even though it's now bein hazmanim, some of our students have decided to stay in the yeshiva next week too. So from next Monday, they'll be volunteering in the city, visiting bomb shelters, raising morale, and helping wherever is needed.

They'll start the day in the yeshiva with tefilla and learning, a shiur from one of the Rabbanim, and then after lunch go into town to strengthen the local residents.

One of the guiding lights of the yeshiva program is a direct, close and personal connection with our students, even during their IDF service.

With that in mind, ahead of the upcoming Shana Bet draft, their parents came to the yeshiva for a preparation evening.

The evening included opening remarks by the Rosh Yeshiva, Rav Barkai, and shiurim by the Ram'im. Rosh Yeshiva Rav Kirshstein spoke at the festive dinner, followed by an explanation from the soldiers' coordinator about the military track our students are about to embark on.

In addition, the students themselves showed a short video clip, in which they summarized the lessons and values they have learned so far from their time at the yeshiva.

Wishing them all a smooth and safe enlistment!

Last Shabbat, the yeshiva hosted a wonderful and uplifting Shabbat for Shana Aleph, attended by over 200 students, parents, and staff.

We are always grateful for the opportunity to hold such events and it's an honor and a pleasure to involve the parents of our students in everything we're doing here in the north.

May we be privileged to host many more Shabbatot like this!

Chodesh Tov!

Normally, the yeshiva celebrates Rosh Chodesh Adar in the yeshiva dining room. This year, due to the post-war situation in the city, our students went downtown for a celebratory meal, not only to support local businesses but also to raise morale in Kiryat Shemona. They'll also be buying Mishloach Manot from stores in the city!
If you're in the north, you're welcome to do the same!

Tu Bishvat Sameach!

At the height of winter zman, the yeshiva staff, students and alumni, celebrated Tu Bishvat at the "Nitzanim" shul in Jerusalem. (Thank you for hosting us!)

We had the great honor of enjoying a powerful and moving Seder Tu Bishvat with Rav Tzfania Drori, our founder and first Rosh Yeshiva.

Between arousing niggunim and tasting the fruits that Eretz Yisrael has been blessed with, we connected to the deep roots and sang the praises of this wonderful Land of ours.

As part of the yeshiva's deep and constant connection to Kiryat Shmona, Every Friday, a group of students visit preschools in the city,

The children eagerly await their arrival and are very excited to sing along, listen to stories and participate in the activities our students prepare for them.

It's a beautiful link of generations and an atmosphere of much joy and fun.

May we experience many more of these special moments,
and continue to give these 'tinokot shel beit raban' the sweet taste of Torah and Shabbat!

We're very excited to have submitted a request for building new dormitories for the yeshiva, to replace the original ones built in the 1960s/70s. The photo shows Rosh Yeshiva, Rav Barkai, signing the request, above a simulation of what the new buildings will look like!

Every year, the yeshiva celebrates Chanukah with Yeshivat Hispin, sometimes in Kiryat Shemona and sometimes in the Golan. This year, the party was in Hispin, on the first night. The joy was palpable and the light shone bright!

Chanukah Sameach!

Today, the Mayor of Kiryat Shemona, Avichai Stern, came to the yeshiva to speak to Shana Aleph students taking a special course in "Search and Rescue," particularly for earthquake situations, G-d forbid.

A year after the yeshiva "came back to life" in Kiryat Shemona, it now releases a new clip called 'Exposed," together with the families of our soldiers killed in the war, Rabbis and other students.

The clip was produced in memory of five of the yeshiva's students: Eitan Dishon, Elkana Navon, Achya Daskal and Neria Moshe Cohen, Hyd, who fell in "Swords of Iron," and Hallel Yaniv, Hyd, who was murdered in a terrorist attack in Hawara in February 2023.

The lyrics are based on the famous Chanuka song, "Maoz Tzur."

Today, Rosh Chodesh Kislev, the yeshiva hosted a festive tefilla for residents of Kiryat Shemona and the surrounding area. Billed as "marking a year since the ceasefire and an expression of gratitude for all the great miracles and the return of the hostages," it was a very moving, joyous morning in the Beit Midrash! This morning, 34 of our Year 3 students, combat soldiers in the Combat Engineering Corps, completed a tough 8 months of training with an even tougher "Beret March," the final march of the course, after which they received their official berets.

As is the custom in our yeshiva, some of our older students traveled all the way down south to greet their fellow soldiers/students and celebrate their achievement in true Kiryat Shemona style!
