Yom Yerushalayim Celebrations!
After the celebratory tefilla on Thursday night, we continued celebrating Jerusalem with a festive meal and a powerful Dvar Torah from Rabbi Ehud Zand, Ram, Shana Bet.
On Friday, we set out early toward the Kotel, where we sang a moving and unifying Hallel accompanied by melodies, songs, and dancing.
From there, we continued to the Techelet Museum in Ma'ale Adumim, where we learned about the complex and fascinating process of producing the techelet (blue) dye for the mitzvah of Tzitzit. We also had the privilege of an enthralling Zoom talk by Rabbi Yosef Tzvi Rimon.
We also visited the cemetery on the Mount of Olives, learning about the many important figures buried there.
We celebrated Shabbat at the Porat Yosef Yeshiva complex near the Kotel. In addition to our rabbis, staff, and students, we also welcomed kollel scholars, yeshiva alumni, and soldiers.
The uplifting day included tefillot at the Kotel, inspirational Shabbat meals, engaging Divrei Torah from our teachers and from Rabbi Yisrael Kirshstein and Rabbi Ariel Barkai, walking tours through the Old City, and, true to tradition, a Hesder Yeshiva singing circle (Seder Shabbat) in the Cardo.
