שנים חיכיתי ליום הזה!
היום שבו יהיה לי את האומץ להוציא אלבום תפילות שכולו בית הכנסת המרוקאי שבו גדלתי על טהרת המוסיקה האנדלוסית. לרבים מאיתנו זה מושג מוכר, אבל עבור אלו שפחות, מדובר במוזיקה אהובה במיוחד שנולדה בחבל אנדלוס שבספרד ונדדה עם היהודים אל מדינות צפון אפריקה (מרוקו אלג׳יריה וטוניסיה) בעקבות גירושם. שם, היא השתלבה עם הסגנון המקומי והפכה לפסקול חייהם של מאות אלפי משפחות יהודיות (ובניהן משפחתי שלי) במסען הארוך אל ארץ הקודש. השירים הסוחפים והממכרים היו בעצם הנחמה שליוותה אותם בשעותיהם הלא קלות בדרך ארצה עד שכאן, לבסוף, הם התנגנו ונשתמרו בבתי הכנסת ובשמחות המשפחתיות מתוך הזכרון והגעגוע של כל משפחה אל השורשים ממנה צמחה ואל ״בית אבא״ כפי שאנחנו נוהגים לכנות היום.
חברים יקרים, מדובר במקבץ של כל השירים היפים ביותר שבחרתי בקפידה ובהפקה מוסיקלית עשירה ומפוארת כראוי לתפילות, שהאוזניים יאהבו להאזין להם שוב ושוב והלב יפתח ויתרגש מכל העוצמות והשכינה שהם מביאים איתם.
כמובן, שגם הפעם לא ויתרתי על כמה הפתעות מקוריות עם קצת עזרה מידידיי - המוסיקאים המדהימים קובי אפללו ואוהד חיטמן ועל דואט מפתיע במיוחד שאני חולם אותו מהיותי ילד - לשיר עם גדול זמרי צרפת, האחד והכי מיוחד אנריקו מסיאס! כי חלומות נועדו כדי להגשים אותם.
מבטיח לכם חויה יהודית במיטבה לכבוד החגים שכבר בפתח ומקדיש לכם ולהוריי האהובים מכל שרה ודוד אזולאי את האלבום של חיי - א נ ד ל ו ס !

I have waited years for this day!
The day in which I would have the courage to release an album of prayers (the third in all) that are entirely from the Moroccan synagogue that I grew up in, based solely on Andalusian music. For many of us this is a familiar concept, but for those who are less familiar with it, I will say that this is a type of music that is especially beloved; that it was born in the Andalus region in Spain and migrated with the Jews to North Africa (Morocco, Algeria, Tunis) after their expulsion. In North Africa it combined with the local style and became the soundtrack of the lives of hundreds of thousands of Jewish families (including my own), during their lengthy journey to the Holy Land. The stirring, addictive songs comforted them during their difficult journey to Israel, and then here, finally, they were used and preserved in the synagogues and in festive family occasions—the songs evoking the memories and longings of each family to its origins, to “Papa’s Home”, as we call it today.
Dear friends, this is a collection of the most beautiful songs, which I have chosen with great care and produced in a rich, magnificent musical production that befits prayers; these are songs that you will love to hear over and over again, and their divine presence and power will open your hearts and move you.
Of course I once again included some original surprises with a little help from my friends, the awesome musicians Kobi Aflalo and Ohad Hitman, and an especially surprising duet that I have been dreaming about since childhood: to sing with the greatest of French singers, the one and only Enrico Macias! Because dreams were meant to come true.
I guarantee you a great Jewish experience for the holidays, which will soon be upon us, and I dedicate the album of my life, to you and to my beloved parents, Sarah and David Azulay.
