Torah Tidbits: Behind the Pages
A publication of OU Israel, Torah Tidbits is the largest weekly English-language Torah publication in the country. Created by Phil Chernofsky in the spring of 1992, it began as a humble, black-and-white photocopied page and has since grown into a beautiful 80-page, full-color weekly booklet, edited by Rabbi Aaron Goldscheider.
Today, a dedicated army of volunteers, led by the wonderful work of Toni Chernofsky, distributes the publication to over 400 locations across Israel, from the Golan Heights to Sderot and everywhere in between. Many of these volunteers have been steadfastly devoted for years. Week after week, they make it their personal mission to distribute Torah Tidbits to every shul, local store, and restaurant. For them, it is a true labor of love to ensure that their friends, neighbors, and the entire community always have easy access.
Thanks to their tireless grassroots efforts, Torah Tidbits reaches an estimated 30,000 readers weekly, while also maintaining a strong global audience and expanding into digital formats like apps and audio summaries.
Despite this massive evolution over the last three decades, Torah Tidbits proudly maintains its warm, accessible, and community-oriented feel. We hope you continue to enjoy!
