Yoatzot Halacha Fertility Counselors of Nishmat in conjunction with Gefen Fertility send our sincere condolences to Rabbi Yehoram Ulman and his family on the devastating news that one of the victims murdered in the horrific attack in Sydney, Australia, was his son-inlaw, Rabbi Eli Schlanger.

Rabbi Eli joined Rabbi Ulman on his visits to Nishmat and just a few months ago, Rabbi Eli shared their plans to build a new special mikveh and his strong desire to train sensitive, knowledgeable mikveh attendants for the new project.

During the past two years in Israel, since October 7th, one of the decisions that family members of fallen soldiers have faced is regarding posthumous s***m collection. In a blog post for the The Times of Israel, Michal Roness, head of Nishmat’s Yoatzot Halacha Fertility Counselors, reflects on the extremely weighty and complex questions that arise when making this decision.
