I cannot believe that it has been 3 years since I last wrote something on this page and that for chapter 2. Well after 3 years chapter 3 is finally complete....kidding.

The whole book is now complete and under review by Ibooks. I just have to make some small changes which I have done and now am waiting to do the final upload tomorrow at school.
Very soon, Ill be posting details on where to get the book but for the mean time I just want to say thank you to all who have been involved in this endeavour

Hello friends,
After many hours of consultations, writing, editing and formatting I am happy to announce that Chapter 2 is pretty much complete and looking good. Preliminary feedback has been very encouraging from those who have had brief looks at the chapter as to its quality. I thank God for HIS enabling hand in helping us get this far. I will attempt, more than I have to keep you all up to date with the progress of the the project. Thanks again for your support and prayers in this.

Our sincere appreciation to all those who attended the evening today. It was a great God glorifying evening and especially to all those who helped make the night a success.

Hi everyone.... This is probably our last post as we wind down our very privileged and whirlwind of a trip through the bible. God through your prayers and His grace has been very kind to us. None of us has developed any jellybellies. We haven't had any major dramas considering we have stood on been through, climbed over, driven through some dangerous places.... Like today for example, we all hopped on some donkeys and proceeded to climb 600 steps through a winding and narrow stairwell all the way to the top of Petra. No OH&S forms to fill although the look of terror on Alastairs face was worth the 40 JD. We then proceeded to climb even higher to film the wonderous scenes before us in the land of the Edomites. We walked and filmed for 6 hours by which time we were exhausted and our Biblical travel guide suggested we unwind by indulging in a Turkish bath. Alastair, Matt and myself were steamed, poached and pulverized by a very strong Syrian man... Though painful it Really did relax our sore and painful muscles by making them numb. The last time I was pulverized like that was when I was beat up by my lovely wife. Just kidding though....

We filmed Aaron's tomb and how the Edomites lived.... Clue read Obadiah.

Tomorrow we leave for wadi rum a desert and we take a 3 hour jeep ride before having lunch in a Bedouin camp and then a 3 hour trip to Amman to catch our flight to Bangkok at 1 am.

Rami our guide has arranged for Matt to stay in Amman In a good hotel. He's a good man to have in a pinch so Matt is in good hands till he leaves for Egypt... So no worries mum!

Alvin and Alastair have been fantastic just guiding and leading with biblical events and places, Matt has been brilliant at filming.. We have got some amazing shots which I hope will inspire students to delve into scripture more.

All this would not have even possible without Sue Cox, my boss who has a vision for Christ centred learning....(do I hear a raise coming up)..but seriously all this would not have been possible without God who has seen for to send us through a great community of believers and support from leadership who have a heart for God. And my wife who has released
Me to obey God's call and of course YOU. Thank you for praying we haven't finished yet and 24 hrs of travel still to come. So till we see you again very soon adieu....and God Bless. I thank God for His strength and sustenance.

Donna here with a message from the guys - right now they are "on Mt Nebo where Moses was.... Deut 34"

Jordan....the Pace is not as intense and the People are a lot more friendly and hospitable. We are staying in a semi dodgy hotel which is good because this is where most of the locals stay. This morning we got picked up by Rami our guide and Izam who must be the best driver I have ever seen.

We visited the ancient ruins of Pella which is not biblical but a good example of a first century Roman decapolis. Then we also visited a tell where they recently discovered an inscription with th name of Balaam son of Peor... a testament once again of the accuracy of scripture. We took footage of the sea of galilee from Jordan and we passed through some military Check points where cameras had to be lowered as we were only a 100 meters or so from the Israeli border. Felt weirded because just a few days ago we were on the Israeli side. Also viewed the jabbok river where Jacob travelled through and succoth where he wrestled with the angel of the Lord and ended up six kilometers away and named it Peniel.

Tomorrow we visit Amman proper and get to visit the
Museum and mt Nebo where Moses once stood. Till then God bless.

Matt and I got strip searched at Ben Gurion while Alvin and Alastair just breezed through. Matt had to unzip his pants while I had to drop my dacks while they looked for my weapon of mass creation...:). The good thing though was when it was over we got an es**rt through security and didn't have to line up like the others. We feel like Jason Bourne.

Yesterday (Saturday) we went to Nazareth Village - an educational facility with reconstructed first century features - like wine press, carpenter's shop, weaving, synagogue, shepherd and sheep (actual and not reconstructed), watch tower and other things. Went early (we want to be ahead of the curve) and were told we couldn't film - unless we went through with group (and then only film briefly). The next group was to be there t 11.00 am - a couple of hours to fill in. We're creative. We went to check out Mount Precipice - a step cliff, perhaps the one the villagers of Nazareth threatened to through Jesus over. Off we went and found it - with some difficulty, driving up and around after negotiating our way around a large boulder which appeared to have been placed strategically to block access. Funny that - since when we part way up the road we met a front end load with more large boulders in the scoop and an irate driver beeping! We turned back, renegotiated the boulder (from the other side) and tried the right road. And got there - and a great over view of the Jezreel Valley from the North - Looking across at Mt Moreh and the village of Nain (Shunem is on the other side - your brains might be making a connection now about the two sons of widows, one in the OT the other in the NT. If not its worth thinking about.).

Then back to Nazareth Village. A large group - so not much good for filming. But very educational, run by Christians (Evangelicals) with a message as the various sites were viewed. Then for lunch - humus! Yum! Actually three of the men had humus AND lamb. The addition was a mistake. The meat seemed to be just a little off. To prove it was Michael regurgitated after the meal. Lovely. The off to Mt Carmel.

Went to the top of Mount Carmel (or Caramel as the sweet tooted youth of the group would prefer to designate it). Not really good for filming - but good for checking our geography of the North and thinking about the Elijah and prophets of Baal incident (there was the Kishon River (now only a dirty stream) in the valley [Kishon River? you think. Check out the concordance!]) Then down to the valley and a shot back at Mount Carmel - very good. Then home. Not a bad day. The Lord has been giving us just the right weather.

And Sunday (= today) - Went to the Nazarene Church (interviewed the pastor Saturday evening after going out for a meal (very nice - Palestinian salads to start and then other good stuff) with him and his wife. Interesting interview as well as the chat earlier at the restaurant. He's an Arab Israeli. The Lord has used him to grow a congregation from 15 to 250 in 10 years. May the Lord do that more and more. Very keen for the gospel - yet getting opposition, from the traditional churches. How sad is that?)) Anyway church this morning. It was all in Arabic. Surprisingly that made it a bit harder to understand. Ah, but there was a translator through headphones which certainly helped. Key idea? Enthusiastic. The singing got started - not traditional western tunes with Arabic words. NOOO. Arabic tunes and beat. Later people sharing what the Lord had been doing in their lives - much connected with sharing the gospel. Loud and strongly applied sermon. Positive experience. Then off to Caesarea - but wait. It is pouring - yes, pouring, with streams of water running down the streets. The Lord has not given us weather for filming this time. What is happening? We consider. The Lord is changing the plans! Matt has wanted to go to the Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem since he's been here. Maybe…We'll give it s go. So off to Jerusalem - following the GPS lady. And we made it in time. A very sobering display - very sobering. You don't believe in evil? Check out the holocaust museum. And the church hasn't always been squeaky clean either when it has come to anti-semitism. This is food for thought and prayer. But again guidance from the Lord through the weather.

Jordan tomorrow, Lord willing. We are very conscious of God' guiding and providing.

Have been to Megiddo. Very cold. Pur intrepid camera man is suffering from frost bite! But what an overview - a sweep from MT Gilboa, across the Jezreel valley, onto Mount Moreh, the Tabor and Nazareth. Then another from Nazareth to MT Carmel. All very good and putting this area in context. We also went to the Jordan where it comes out of the Sea of Galilee - it's footage and authentic - it just has the problem that there are gum trees everywhere. It could be the Barwon. Matt does his best to cu tout the inauthentic and cut in what we really want. The Lord has kept us from illnesses, for which we are thankful. In Nazareth and off to a reconstruction of a first century village, Mt Carmel (which Matt thinks of as Mount Caramel - always has food on his mind) and possibly Tabor and other places, Lord willing. And then off to Jordan in a couple of days. unbelievably fast - but lots of ideas about how to put the material together in an innovative and up-to-date format. But this will have to wait until we return.
