Merci aux collègues de l'Université hébraïque de Jérusalem pour leur soutien inconditionnel.

The professors and students associated with the Hebrew University's Center for the Study of Christianity and the Department of Comparative Religion were shocked and upset to learn of the violent attack that was carried out yesterday afternoon against a Catholic sister on Mt. Zion. This heinous and utterly dangerous hate crime is part of a deeply disturbing rise in Christianophobia that is becoming alarmingly prevalent in the Old City of Jerusalem and in many other places across Israel.

We send our heartfelt wishes for a speedy and full recovery to the aggressed sister.
We stand in solidarity with the victim, a researcher like ourselves, and with her colleagues, who are also our colleagues, namely our friends at the École Biblique et Archéologique Française and at the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem البطريركية اللاتينية - القدس

We call on the police and the courts to bring the aggressor to justice, and upon Israel and Jerusalem's leadership, at all levels, to take concrete actions, in legislation, education, and enforcement, to squelch this dangerous trend that threatens us all.

אנו, מרצים וסטודנטים הקשורים למרכז לחקר הנצרות באוניברסיטה העברית והחוג למדע הדתות, הזדעזענו לשמוע על התקיפה האלימה שבוצעה אתמול אחר הצהריים נגד נזירה קתולית בהר ציון. פשע שנאה נתעב ומסוכן זה הוא חלק מעלייה מדאיגה ועמוקה בשנאה כלפי נוצרים, שהופכת נפוצה באופן מטריד בעיר העתיקה בירושלים ובמקומות רבים נוספים ברחבי ישראל.

אנו שולחים את איחולינו הכנים להחלמה מהירה ומלאה לנזירה שנפגעה.

אנו עומדים בסולידריות עם הנפגעת, חוקרת כמותנו, ועם עמיתיה, שהם גם עמיתינו – חברינו ב־École biblique et archéologique ובפטריארכיה הלטינית של ירושלים.

אנו קוראים למשטרה ולמערכת המשפט להביא את התוקף לדין, ולמנהיגות בישראל ובעיריית ירושלים, בכל הדרגים, לנקוט צעדים ממשיים – בחקיקה, בחינוך ובאכיפה – כדי לבלום מגמה מסוכנת זו המאיימת על כולנו.

‼️Jérusalem : mardi, en fin d’après-midi, à proximité du Cénacle, une religieuse française, chercheuse collaboratrice du programme de recherche La Bible En Ses Traditions de l’École Biblique et Archéologique Française a été victime d’une agression gratuite. Nous condamnons fermement cet acte de violence sectaire et attendons des autorités qu’elles réagissent avec promptitude et fermeté.
