On the morning of September 11, 2001, John, a New Yorker who had grown lax in his Catholic faith, was heading to his job as an investment manager in the World Trade Center. Months earlier, after attending an America Needs Fatima home visit, he had begun praying the Rosary daily.
That fateful morning, he had walked just three blocks from home when he realized he had forgotten his Rosary. Something compelled him to turn back and get it. This small act of obedience placed him in a position that would ultimately save his life.
When the South Tower was struck, John was inside the building. Trapped amid the chaos, thick smoke, intense heat, and collapsing structures, he clutched his Rosary tightly and prayed with deep intensity to Our Lady.
Firefighters later reached him and guided him to safety through the inferno.
John credits his survival entirely to the intercession of Our Blessed Mother. He firmly believes that Our Lady used the Rosary to protect him when escape seemed impossible.
