I wish all those who are starting state exams this week the best of luck and every blessing at this time! 📚

I hope all goes well for you, but remember that all you can do is do your best. You are loved and supported by your family, friends, church family and God always.

For leaving certificate students please remember that an exam doesn't define who you are or what you can be and there are many paths to get to your chosen course or career.

As a parish we are praying for each one of you.

God of peace be with you, God of strength support you, God of love surround you.

God bless, Ross

Tomorrow is Trinity Sunday and we have All Age Family Services in Calary Church at 9.30am, St. Matthew's Church at 10.45am and in Newcastle Church at 12pm.

In Newcastle we will be joined by Millie and some of her classmates from Temple Carrig, who will tell us about their recent trip to Uganda with Fields of Life. A charity that does amazing work in East Africa and one that we are honoured to support as a parish.

Our collection will be for Fields of Life.

We look forward to hearing about their experiences!

Please come and support them and Fields of Life in the great work they do to give so many young people hope, love and opportunities.

We will have refreshments after each service, please do stay for a cuppa and a chat, if you can!

God bless, Ross

On Sunday, May 17th, we had an uplifting confirmation service in Newcastle Church when 12 of our confirmation candidates from our parishes were confirmed by the Most Rev'd Dr Michael Jackson, Archbishop of Dublin and Bishop of Glendalough.

A huge thank you to the wonderful young people who were confirmed! They were fantastic throughout our preparation and on the day!

Many thanks also to the Archbishop, to Caroline our lay minister, to Sheila our organist, to all who decorated and prepared the church and grounds so beautifully and to everyone who came to support Emily, Senen, Theo, Gabriel, Holly, Reuben, Daisy, Patrick, Elliott, Mason, Ava and Donncha on their very special day!

We also look forward to Georgie’s confirmation, next Sunday, in Christchurch Church Cathedral, Dublin.

In the Archbishop's address he spoke of the candidates reaffirming the promises made on their behalf at Baptism and that to do so between Ascension Thursday and Pentecost was a poignant time. He said that we, like the disciples, can sometimes feel lost or left behind but that we must remember that Jesus is always with us. The Archbishop reminded us of how important it is to gather together, to support each other as a community of faith.

We continue to keep all those confirmed in our prayers and we endeavour to walk with them and encourage them as they continue their life long journey of faith. 🕊️
God bless,
Ross

We had a beautiful Rogation service in Dunran yesterday, many thanks to Martin and Avril Kelly for inviting us to hold our service in the most picturesque setting again this year! It is always a joy to worship together out in God’s creation. ☀️

Many thanks also to Ed, Willie and James who set up, to our readers, Derek, Ed and Caroline, to Charlotte for providing our music, to Sr Mary Killeen of the Mukuru Promotion Centre in Kenya for an enlightening talk and to everyone who came to worship with us!

The sun shone beautifully for us this year! 🧺

Our collection was in aid of The Mukuru Promotion Centre, in Kenya and Bishops’ Appeal.

Dear Lord, God of all creation, we give you thanks for the soil of the earth, for the work of human hands that cultivate the soil. We give thanks for the crops that feed us. We give you thanks for the colours and sounds of nature, the beauty of trees and flowers, of birds and every living thing. We give you thanks for water and for all life sustained by it. We ask for your blessing for the growth of all things in our natural world and our faith within us. Grant that we may we have listening ears and understanding hearts, to the world around us. Amen

God bless,
Ross

Our parishes stretch from the heart of the Wicklow mountains in Calary to the sea in Newcastle, a very welcoming community of faith.

The parish takes in some of the most rural and beautiful areas in County Wicklow and also one of the fastest growing towns, Newtownmountkennedy, and includes growing communities in Newcastle, Kilcoole and Roundwood.

We have three beautiful churches, Calary Church, St Matthew’s Church and Newcastle that offer a very warm welcome to all.

If you are new to the area or if you would like to discover more about us, please do get in touch!

God bless, Ross
