will be performing three movements from the stunningly beautiful ‘Magnificat’ by the gifted Norwegian composer during our concert this Sunday 24th May at 1.30pm . This will be the choir’s second time performing this magnificent work in city, having performed the full score last October in the Good Shepherd Chapel Waterford - the site of a former Magdalene laundry - by way of honouring the Survivors of Institutional abuse. We were delighted to receive the following personal note from the composer himself in recognition of this dedicated concert which we titled ‘From Silence to Song’ :-
“The idea to perform this work at a former Magdalene laundry is so special, and just the thought of it moved me very much. I hope this was a rewarding experience for the singers in the choir. I am so thankful for what your choir has invested in time and your hearts in creating this special performance.
