The death has occurred of Damian Sherlock, Kells, Co. Meath and late of Cavan Road, Virginia, Co. Cavan on Friday, 11th September 2026​​​​​​, suddenly, at home.

Predeceased by his father Gerry and his brother-in-law Kieron.

Damian will be very sadly missed by his loving family; his fiancée Kym, his mother Margaret, sisters Lena (Mickey) and Jackie, brothers David (Sorcha) and Conor, nieces and nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins; Kym’s family, her parents Gerry and Gwen, sister Jennifer (Andrew), brother Mark (Leah) and her nephew Evan, together with his large circle of friends.

Damian will repose at Matthews Funeral Home, Bailieborough Road, Virginia, Co. Cavan (A82 YV58) on Tuesday evening from 5.00pm until prayers at 8.00pm.

Removal to Mary Immaculate Church, Virginia on Wednesday morning arriving for Funeral Mass at 11.00am, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery .

The death has occurred peacefully at Cavan General Hospital of Thomas Clerkin, Murmod, Virginia, Co.Cavan on 7 September 2026, surrounded by his family, his Murmod friends and neighbours.

Predeceased by his parents Francis and Elizabeth and his brother Sonny and brother in law Tony Reilly.

Thomas will be dearly missed by his siblings Patrick, Jack and Brigid, his nephew Sean and his boys Liam and Patrick, his niece Helen and her husband Michael and their children Matthew and Grace, and his many friends in Murmod.

Rest In Peace.

Thomas will repose in Matthews Funeral Home, Bailieborough Road, Virginia (A82YV58) on Sunday evening from 5 o'clock until prayers at 7 o'clock.

Removal to Mary Immaculate Church Virginia on Monday arriving for 11 o'clock Funeral Mass followed by burial in Virginia Old Cemetery.

Thomas’s family wish to sincerely thank the wonderful neighbours and friends in Murmod who looked out for him over the years, and the doctors, nurses and staff of Cavan General Hospital for their care and compassion.

A very special and heartfelt thank you is extended to everyone at Virginia Primary Care, particularly the staff and residents of Illinkirka, where Thomas was so lovingly cared for. Illinkirka became much more than a place of care — it became his home. The friendship, warmth and genuine affection shown to Thomas brought great happiness to his days and meant more to his family than words can express.

To all who cared for Thomas, laughed with him and shared in his life — thank you.

The death has occurred of Rosaleen Bouktila (née O’Connor), late of O’Devaney Gardens, Cabra, Dunboyne and Virginia Co. Cavan, suddenly but peacefully at Cavan General Hospital.



Predeceased by her parents John and Elizabeth, brothers Hughie and Johnny, cherished sister Maureen and niece Catherine.



Rosaleen will be deeply and forever missed by her loving sons Sharif, Niall, Ramsey and Adam; her adored grandchildren Zain, Zoe, Reuben, Robyn, Josiah, Maria, Annabelle and Arthur; her daughters-in-law Ashling and Samantha; Sarah and Niamh; her foster-son Godstime; her brothers and sisters; her many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews; cousins; and her extended family and wide circle of friends, too numerous to mention.

Funeral Mass on Monday morning at 10am in our Lady Help of Christians Parish Catholic Church, Navan Rd, Castleknock, Dublin 7, D07 CKR7, followed by cremation in Glasnevin Crematorium.



Rosaleen’s fierce love, loyalty and generosity rippled further than she knew at times; she would do anything for the people she loved, and her spirit will live on in all those lucky enough to have known her.

Predeceased by his parents and his brother Milo.

Much loved husband of Noreen, cherished father of Michele and Karl, and adored and much-loved granddad to Leon, Rachel, Troy, Callum and Philippa.

David will be sadly missed by his loving wife, children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and many friends.

Peacefully, at her home, on the 4th of August 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her parents Hugh and Molly, her sisters May, Doreen and Peggy, and her brother Tommy.

Beloved mother of Hugh (Karen), Kathleen and Sharon. Cherished and adored granny of Liam, Lauren, Shay, Ryan, Ciara, Cian and Eoin.

Predeceased by her husband Liam Snr., her son Liam Jnr. and her Grandson Christopher, her parents Michael and Anne, her brother Philip and her sisters Rose and Eileen.

Funeral times have changed..

The death has occurred of Noel Brennan, Dunancory, Virginia, Co. Cavan, and formerly of Bray, Co. Wicklow, and Edmondstown, Ardee, peacefully at Cavan General Hospital, after a short illness, surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his parents, his brother Gerry and his sister Sr Catherine.

Much loved husband of Ann and beloved Dad of Niall and Róisín and adored Gaga of Niamh, Eoghan, Hannah, Juliette and Oliver.

Sadly missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, daughter in law Myra, son in law Tony, his sisters and brothers May, Tommy, Madge, Tony, Fr Oliver and Martin, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and dear neighbours.

Predeceased by his parents Charlie and Margaret, his sister Kathleen, his brother Johnny, his twin grandsons, and his nephew Cathal.
