POPE FRANCIS ON PRAYING WITH THE GOSPEL:

'But I have so much to do!'. At home, 15 minutes, pick up the Gospel, a small passage, imagine what happened and talk with Jesus about it. So your gaze will be fixed on Jesus and not so much on a TV soap opera, for example. Your ears will be focused on the words of Jesus and not so much on your neighbourhood gossip ...Today, for example, try for 10 minutes - 15, no more – to read the Gospel, picture it and say something to Jesus. And nothing more. And so your knowledge of Jesus will be bigger and your hope will grow.

Yesterday we completed the Parish Youth hike which was organised by the youth of the parish who did the John-Paul II awards. A group of young people from all over the parish (and beyond) walked round the Parish, stopping at each of the 3 Churches along the way; St Mary's St Patrick's and Our lady of the Wayside; where we stopped and prayed for the young people of the parish. We enjoyed the scenery, the exercise and the craic. We finished with the youth Mass in St Mary's. Afterwards we enjoyed some pizza in the parish room.

Youth 2000 prayer group (16-35 year olds) tonight and every Monday at 8pm in St Mary's, Sandyford.

An hour of Eucharistic Adoration with Prayer, Music and scripture. Followed by drinks, treats and craic in the Parish Room.

Youth 2000 Summer Festival Roscrea:
This is a lively 4 day festival with workshops, concert, inspiring talks, great music and prayer. And plenty of time for relaxing, chilling out and meeting new people! During the festival, you can get some spiritual R&R, meet other young Catholics in the same boat and give your faith a boost.

It takes place in Cistercian College, Mount Saint Joseph Abbey, Roscrea, Co Tipperary from 15th – 18th August 2013. The theme for the festival is:

"Fixing our eyes on Jesus who leads us in our faith" Heb 12:2
