📌 Basic Income Support for Sustainability (BISS) 2026

The application window for BISS 2026 is now open.

The closing date for applications is Friday, 15 May 2026.

Over the coming weeks, farmers will be receiving a BISS information pack in the post containing their maps and land details for 2026.

Farmers can apply for all elements of Direct Payments (BISS, Eco-Schemes, Complementary Income Support for Young Farmers, Protein Aid, National Reserve, transferring of entitlements)

🌿 Organic Farming Scheme 2026 – Now Announced!

Thinking of going organic? Here’s what you need to know:

📅 Scheme window:
• Opens 19 Nov 2025
• Closes 12 Dec 2025
• 5-year contract starting 1 Jan 2026

👨‍🌾 Who can apply?
• Active farmers registered with DAFM’s Organic Unit + an Organic Control Body
• Must hold an organic licence before applying or by 1 Jan 2026
• Min. 3 ha (or 1 ha horticulture)
• Submit BISS annually
• Complete the 25-hour Organic Training Course by 1 Oct 2026

🎯 Selection priority:
Funding is limited – applicants ranked by points.
Priority groups:
1️⃣ Horticulture
2️⃣ Tillage & Dairy
3️⃣ All other sectors
Extra marks for: female/young farmers, larger organic area, mixed farming, higher stocking density, full conversion & sectoral balance.

💶 Payment rates (per ha):
(Years 1–2 conversion → Years 3–5 organic)
• Horticulture: €800 → €600
• Tillage: €320 → €270
• Dairy: €350 → €300
• Drystock: €300 → €250

Reduced rates after 70 ha

Participation payment: €2,000 (Year 1), then €1,400/yr

Under TAMS 3, farmers can avail of a new 60% grant aid for specific nutrient storage investments and include: manure pits; mass concrete tanks, including precast tanks; circular slurry stores; and geo-membrane-lined stores.

These specific nutrient storage investments items will attract a 60% grant aid, and will have a separate ring-fenced ceiling of €90,000.
