Progress, precision and passion.
For the past four weeks, a team of highly skilled stonemasons has been carefully crafting the sweeping granite walls that form the entrance to Lakeside Memorial Park.

Built to endure, these walls will become a familiar and welcoming landmark for generations of families and visitors to come.

Watching the craftsmanship and attention to detail up close is a reminder that exceptional places take time. Every piece of granite is carefully measured, levelled and set by hand, reflecting the patience, precision and pride behind every stage of the development.

These granite walls will stand as a lasting symbol of the quality and permanence at the heart of Lakeside Memorial Park.

As we prepare to open this September, we extend our sincere thanks to James Maher and the team at Stonepave for bringing their expertise, dedication and craftsmanship to this important stage of the project.

A sunny week and solid progress at Lakeside Memorial Park as we work towards opening later this summer.

This week saw the installation of two new road bridges spanning the historic Sluice River.

The Sluice River, which rises to the north of Dublin Airport and flows eastwards through Greenwood, Abbeyville, Kinsealy and Old Portmarnock before entering the sea at the Baldoyle Estuary, has long been part of the rich natural heritage of this area.

Our purpose is to thoughtfully redefine the traditional cemetery experience by creating a place of remembrance, in harmony with nature.

With each stage of progress, we move closer to opening this new community amenity, offering a range of distinguished burial choices including traditional and larger burial plots, ash interment within our stately columbarium walls, and peaceful in-ground ash burial plots.

Completing the road infrastructure enhances accessibility for funeral vehicles and allows landscaping and tree planting to continue within the park.

At Lakeside Memorial Park, every week brings us one step closer to creating a truly special place for families and the wider community.

We are delighted to share another major milestone in our journey towards completion with the recent installation of the pedestrian bridge spanning the lake.

More than simply a crossing point, this bridge is a meaningful landmark within the park — one that will connect people with their loved ones for generations to come.

Its completion paves the way for the next phase of development, including our lakeside pavilion building and car park, as the vision for Lakeside Memorial Park continues to take shape.

Seeing the landscape transform day by day is incredibly rewarding, and we are excited to share this journey with our community.

From the very beginning, this park has been about creating a peaceful and beautiful environment where people can come together, remember loved ones, and find comfort in nature and shared space.

A significant legacy tree planting programme is well underway in the stunning Lakeside Memorial Park setting in Portmarnock, bringing together landscape architecture, ecological structure, and long-term environmental vision.

This week we took delivery of almost four hundred young trees, joining last year’s first phase of tree planting, who are now budding and blooming.

Set within a carefully considered masterplan, the park is organised into distinct European, Asian, and North American areas. Each section is shaped through a thoughtful palette of trees and planting schemes that reflect global landscapes, while remaining grounded in a strong sense of place.

These carefully curated zones sit in harmony with a wider backdrop of native Irish species, creating a vibrant ecological tapestry that will evolve and mature over decades.

The intention is not only to create seasonal beauty, year-round, and a restorative experience for visitors, but also to strengthen biodiversity, resilience, and long-term environmental value.

Landscape architects Mitchell & Associates have led the design vision, shaping the spatial framework and planting strategy with sensitivity to both ecology and memorial context.

On site, O'Brien Landscaping are carefully setting out and delivering the planting works, translating design intent into a living landscape.

It’s a unique project defined by patience and permanence. Today trees are being set in place as part of a long-term legacy landscape that will mature and deepen over generations.

A big week for Lakeside Memorial Park as we welcomed EBS Networks onsite to complete the long-awaited installation of our permanent underground networking.

Not all connections are visible, some simply keep the light on.

This energisation will allow us to keep the lights on for all our future generations of loved ones here at Lakeside Memorial Park.
