Saint Paul's Church Glenamoy Restoration Fund

Saint Paul's Church Glenamoy Restoration Fund Saint Pauls Church, Glenamoy is situated in the parish of Kilcommon- Erris. It was built in the 1930's in the small rural community in North Mayo.

Over time exposure to harsh weather conditions has caused deterioration to the fabric of the building, resulting in the church having to temporarily close to prevent injury until the roof is replaced. Ongoing routine maintenance of the church is a challenge in itself, so we are seeking donations to assist with this substantially bigger issue. The roof project will have an overall cost of €80,000-9

0,000. Our community is seeking help to raise these much needed funds in order to keep our church open, which is an integral part of our community. Fundraising efforts will be shared to this page in the coming months. We would appreciate all the help we can get.

Thank you to the lads who performed wonders on the floor tiles over the last number of days. They have been treated, and as you can see it has really brought them back to life. The shine off them is amazing.

Apologies for the lack of posts the last number of weeks. Our volunteers have been busy behind the scenes. The inside of the church has had a complete facelift, with the interior walls being redecorated. There was also some damp areas at the back of the church which have been repaired. The statues at the back of the alter have also been restored.

Huge thank you to our volunteers for their hard work and dedication over the last few weeks.

Unfortunately this year there will be no Christmas Eve or Christmas Day mass. Instead the church will be open for communion and individual prayer by the crib at 6pm Christmas Eve and 11.30am Christmas Day. We ask that everyone please adhere to social distancing and to please follow steward guidance.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has helped out with our restoration works, including a huge thank you to Jonathan Sweeney Carpentry and Construction and AGS Scaffolding for the work they have done over the last number of weeks, and to everyone that has donated to our cause.
Although the roof is completed there is still more work to be done. If you wish to donate please use the link in our bio or you may talk to one of the stewards over the next couple of days.
Happy Christmas and God Bless.
