A year of celebrating women in our denomination came to its finale on May 24, with an exhibition of talent and crafts in our Holywood Church. After a welcome and opening words from the Rev Lynda Kane, a short service included a rendition by the Rev Heather Walker of the hymn which the Moderator, the Rev Lena Cockcroft, wrote for our celebration year. There was a fun game of 'A visit to the farm,' and the ladies listed their memories of the past year, with 50 contributions collated. Commemorative teapots were gifted to each church. Looking to the future, the ladies from all the different churches will meet again in Holywood on September 16. Again this will be a 'bring your own' cup and picnic, and Lynda Kane will host the event. Thanks to Carole McAvoy for all the photos.

From All Souls' Church - a number of months ago, Leo and Maya took part in interviewing Isabella and Violet to mark the Year of Women within the NSPCI.

We hope you enjoy these really tremendous videos. Also, we are very thankful to our Kids Club Leader and Elder, Sheena Lewis who kindly organised the interviews with the young people and their families.

We look forward to seeing more from our young people coming up to Christmas.

The ladies and gents who came together to walk at Montalto Estate, Ballynahinch, on Saturday afternoon, August 20, and those who enjoyed dinner at Rockmount Golf Club that evening, had a wonderful time.
Both events were organised as part of our year-long celebration of the role of women in the Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church of Ireland.
The rain moved away for the walk in the beautiful Montalto Estate, where there was also the opportunity to enjoy fellowship and sweet treats in the coffee shop, and browse and buy in the gift shop.
At Rockmount that evening, guests were welcomed by organiser Carole McAvoy, and grace was said by the Moderator, the Rt Rev Lena Cockroft. Everyone enjoyed a superb dinner. The Rev Robert McKee put on a Powerpoint display of all events, articles and interviews from this year, and the meal was followed by some games organised by Carole. These included a Bible names quiz; a game in which each person was given a little parcel and had to listen to the story and move either right or left which prompted lots of laughter trying to keep up with the story; and 20 items you brought with you in your handbag today! Before the evening ended, the Rev Ian Gilpin wished everyone a safe journey home.
We are looking for a Grand Finale to this special year of celebrations - all suggestions welcome.

We are looking forward to our celebration walk and dinner this Saturday, August 20th. Those taking part in the walk at Montalto Estate, should head to Ballynahinch. Leaving Ballynahinch, take the road to Newcastle, then the Spa Road to the right towards Castlewellan. You will find a map at the Montalto website: https://montaltoestate.com/contact/. The plan is to meet at 2pm at the entrance to the Montalto Estate House. The entry fee of £6 per person should be paid to organiser Carole McEvoy on the day.
The meal is at Rockmount Golf Club near Carryduff, roughly 20 minutes drive from Montalto along the A24. The meal is booked for 5pm. Two courses are £21.50 and three courses £24.95. Each group is asked to add £1 per head and put this in an envelop with their church name on it.
