Covid 19 restrictions re rise in Delta Variant: 100 people are now permitted to attend weddings in Church and 1st Communion to take place from mid-August onwards, with in the context of all the usual Covid guidelines for internal worship. On Sundays to help keep the numbers below 50, there will be no Anniversary or Months Memory mass intentions celebrated. We also ask everyone who is not working and free to come to mass on weekdays to do so, as they can then omit Sunday attendance, to help keep numbers under 50 people. With the rising number of cases of the Delta variant it is essential that everyone coming into the church for any mass will record their name for contact tracing. Inside the church everyone is asked to keep 2 meters social distance and not to shake hands, wear a mask and use the hand sanitizing gel provided. People are asked not to congregate outside the church door.
Sacramental dates: for Scotshouse - 1st Holy Communion Saturday 18th Sept 2021 @ 11am.
Eucharistic Adoration: every Wednesday beginning with mass at 7pm until 9pm. Eucharistic adoration provides a meeting point for prayer with the living Christ in the Blessed Sacrament. As St Mother Teresa said: "Jesus has made Himself the Bread of Life to give us life. Night and day, He is there. If you really want to grow in love, come back to the Eucharist, come back to that Adoration."

Prayer for The Confirmation Children: Creator Spirit, strengthen these children with your gifts of grace, to love and serve as a disciple of Christ. Grant that they may grow into the fullness of the stature of Christ. Fill them with the joy of your presence. Increase in them the fruit of your Spirit: the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of love, patience and gentleness, the spirit of wonder and true holiness.
Confirmation and First Communions: Bishop Duffy has decided that the celebration of First Communions and Confirmations may take place in the parishes of Clogher on or after Friday 20th August. The appropriate protocols presently in place in our churches must be maintained, and families are reminded of the need for adherence to public health guidance in relation to social interactions following the church celebration. As with the practice last year, these liturgies should take place with small groups of children and attendance is restricted to the child, the parents/guardians and sponsor.
Weddings: Following on from the recent announcements from Government and public health bodies in ROI, the number permitted to attend a wedding increases from 50 to 100 from the 5th of August. There is no change on the number 50 who may attend a funeral.

Food for Thought on the Assumption: “As the most glorious Mother of Christ, our Saviour and our God and the giver of life and immortality, has been endowed with life by Him, she has received an eternal incorruptibility of the body together with Him who has raised her up from the tomb and has taken her up to Himself in a way known only to Him.” - St Modestus of Jerusalem.
