🌿 OPEN DAY AT ST JOHN’S CHURCH OF IRELAND, KILL 🌿

As part of National Heritage Week 2026, St John’s Church, Kill will be open to visitors on Saturday 22 August from 12.30pm to 5pm.

This year’s theme is “Heritage at Risk”, and from 3pm to 4pm there will be two special talks:

Come in, have a look around, join us for a cup of tea and hear how we restored the roof while taking care of the bats that call St John’s home.

For music lovers.

The Kildare Choral and Organ Festival 2026 will take place at St Brigid’s Cathedral, Kildare, over three Friday evenings from 28 August to 11 September 2026. The programme features internationally acclaimed performers, choral music and organ recitals.

The Festival has its origins in the Kildare and Glendalough Choral Festival, which was established over 135 years ago, in 1890.

Friday 28 August — Judit Máté, organ
The Festival opens with a recital by Hungarian-born organist Judit Máté, featuring works by J.S. Bach, Franz Liszt, Dieterich Buxtehude and other composers.

Massive congratulations to Aidan Tamming (Captain), Harry Ward and Joe Costello, who all start for the Leinster Clubs U18s against Ulster this Sunday at Energia Park, Donnybrook, kicking off at 3pm.

The boys’ campaign continues away to Connacht on Sunday, 23rd August, before finishing against Munster at Donnybrook on Sunday, 30th August.

As part of Heritage Week 2026, join us in St David’s Church of Ireland, Naas, for a talk exploring the remarkable story of Lady Albreda Bourke.

Lady Albreda was a prominent figure in the life of St David’s Church and its vestry up to 1933, but her influence extended well beyond the church. From 1900 until her death, she played an important part in the life of Naas and further afield.

Her story was in danger of being forgotten, but recent research has brought to light just how significant her contribution was.
