Feast of Corpus Christi – Eucharistic Procession:
You are warmly invited to join us for the Feast of Corpus Christi on this Sunday, June 7th at the 12:30pm Mass in the Cathedral of Christ the King.
Following the celebration of the Eucharist, we will take to the streets of Mullingar for a Eucharistic Procession, led by the Mullingar Town Band and joined by the boys and girls who received their First Holy Communion in May.
As the monstrance (from the Latin monstrare, meaning to show) carries Jesus truly present in the Eucharist, we bring Christ out from the sanctuary of the Cathedral and into the heart of our town of Mullingar—past homes, businesses, shops, and restaurants. It is a powerful sign that the Risen Lord walks with us: through our streets and through every dimension of our lives—our families, our work, our recreation, sport, trade, and culture. Christ desires to bless our world, to draw us into deeper adoration, reverence, and love.
After the procession, all are invited to stay for light refreshments, with ice cream and coffee vans outside the Cathedral.
Let us come together as a parish family in faith and joy to honour the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist, and to give public witness to our love for him who walks among us.
