Parish of Kilsherdany and  Drung The parish of Kilsherdany and Drung is a Catholic parish in County Cavan and in the diocese of Kilmore.

The parish of Kilsherdany and Drung is a Catholic parish in the diocese of Kilmore. It is a large rural parish with beautiful drumlin hills and the picturesque Annalee River flowing through it. The parish is tucked-in between Cavan town and Cootehill. It includes the four church areas, Kill, Corick, Drung and Bunnoe. Kilsherdany and Drung were originally two separate parishes and they were united in 1969. The parish is bisected by the Cavan/Cootehill road and the villages of Drung and Tullyvin are in the parish.

DIOCESE OF KILMORE PARISH APPOINTMENTS

The most Rev Dr Martin Hayes, Bishop of Kilmore has made the following changes for the coming year.

Rev. Fr Brian McElhinney C.C. Urney & Annagelliff to be Chaplain to the Parishes of Denn, Crosserlough, Kilmore and Ballintemple while residing in Cavan.
Rev. Fr Peter Casey CC Kilmore to retire on 31st December 2026.
Very Rev. Fr John Phair PP Kinlough to retire and remain as Chaplain to Kinlough Parish until 31st March 2027.
Msgr. Liam Kelly PP VG Kildallan to in addition be Administrator of Corlough-Templeport Parish.
Very Rev. Fr Peter McKiernan PP Crosserlough to retire to Cavan Town.
Very Rev. Fr John Cooney PP Drumgoon to be Parish Priest of Killann Parish and Administrator of Kilmainhamwood & Moybologue Parish.
Very Rev. Fr John Gilhooly, PP Manorhamilton & Killasnett to be Administrator Pro tem of Kinlough Parish until 31st March 2027.
Very Rev. Fr Donal Kilduff PP Denn to commence a Sabbatical Period until 31st March 2027 and thereafter to be Parish Priest of Kinlough.
Very Rev. Fr Maurice McMorrow PP Kinawley to be Parish Priest of Killinkere with pastoral responsibilities in Lurgan, Mullagh and Castlerahan Parishes.
Very Rev. Fr Kevin Fay, Adm. Cathedral to be Parish Priest of Crosserlough and Administrator of Denn Parish.
Very Rev. Fr Darragh Connolly PP Killinkere to be Parish Priest of Drumgoon.
Very Rev. Fr Ultan McGoohan PP Killann & Adm Kilmainhamwood to be Cathedral Administrator, Parish of Urney & Annagelliff.
Very Rev. Fr Sean Maguire PP Corlough & Templeport to be Parish Priest of Kinawley/Killesher.
Rev. Fr Malachy Moses CC Ballinamore & Drumreilly Upper to be Curate in Corlough & Templeport with pastoral responsibilities in the Parishes of Kildallan and Ballinamore & Drumreilly Upper.
Rev. Fr Cyriacus Offor MSP CC Urney & Annagelliff Parish to be Curate in Denn Parish with pastoral responsibilities in the Parishes of Crosserlough, Kilmore and Ballintemple.
Rev. Patrick Ezefunamba, (Diocese of Nnewi, Nigeria) to be Curate in the Parish of Urney & Annagelliff from 1st October 2026.
Rev. Fr Matthew Alechenu Onyilo (Archdiocese of Abuja, Nigeria) to be Curate in the Parish of Urney & Annagelliff.
