In CGS Level 3, this month we have been looking at some of the Jewish roots of our Catholic faith. We have been looking at the Origin of the Word of God, and the synagogue:

The Israelites in exile in Babylon after the fall of the Temple in Jerusalem, who loved God and wanted to continue to worship Him, brought the scrolls of the word of God- first five books of Bible today (Pentateuch/Torah), with them and eventually the synagogue became a new place of worship where people would sing together, read from the Torah and listen to someone teaching from the Word of God.
Today, in Synagogal worship, salvation is hoped for in the future, but as Catholics we believe that salvation has already been accomplished through the death and resurrection of Jesus. Both faiths await for the coming of Jesus: Jews, the first coming; Catholics, the second coming of Jesus and the proclamation of Parousia where God will be all in all.

Looking forward to seeing what our young people will discover next in CGS!

In CGS Level 2 in the month of May, we are praying the rosary each week and this week we made our own rosaries! ๐Ÿ™
