Help Us Restore King Donal Mór O’Brien
Following the deterioration and collapse of our beloved King Donal Mór O’Brien statue, we have launched a GoFundMe campaign to help preserve and restore this iconic piece of Limerick’s heritage.
For six years, the statue stood proudly in the grounds of Saint Mary’s Cathedral, welcoming visitors, inspiring artists and photographers, and celebrating the legacy of one of Ireland’s great medieval kings. It quickly became a much-loved landmark for both local residents and visitors from around the world.
The recent collapse highlights the effects of our changing climate and the impact of another exceptionally wet Irish winter on a wooden outdoor sculpture. We are determined to do everything we can to restore this treasured feature, but we cannot do it alone.
Your support, no matter the size of the donation, will be greatly appreciated by the Dean, the Curate Assistant, Limerick City Parish, and the wider community. Together, we can ensure that King Donal Mór O’Brien continues to inspire future generations.
❤️ Please support our restoration campaign and share this post with friends and family.
