Around this time each year, our formation house in South Africa is blessed with the beautiful bloom of the Golden Trumpet Tree, also known as Tabebuia. What makes it even more remarkable is that the tree first sheds all its leaves before bursting into a brief but breathtaking display of golden-yellow flowers, lasting only a week or two. Nature has its seasons, and each one has something beautiful to offer. Perhaps the lesson is simple: be patient, appreciate the moment, and make the most of what each season brings.

✨ The feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross invites us to stand with Mary and let the world’s wounds touch our hearts, πŸ’• πŸ•Š and to allow God’s Spirit to turn that pain into compassion and hope. ✝ The Cross is not the end. Pain is not the last word β€” love is.❀️ The Crucified and Risen Christ turns suffering into hope, and darkness into a path toward new life. πŸ™ 🌱 πŸ™ Happy feast day!

God forgives without limits. ✝ Forgiving isn’t pretending the hurt didn’t happen; it’s choosing not to let bitterness poison our hearts. πŸ’• Stories like St John Paul II forgiving his attacker show how forgiveness can free both the giver and the receiver. πŸ•ŠοΈ Mercy can ripple through families, communities, even generations. ❀️ β€œWe live by a mercy we could never earn.” β€œIf we cherish hatred, it will poison us.” To view the full homily, go to our website: www.spms.org/sunday-homilies
