The Venerable Katharine Poulton, Archdeacon of Meath and Kildare, and sometime Dean of Ossory, is preparing to attend the ACC in Belfast.
The Revd Canon Katharine Poulton, from the Church of Ireland, is among those preparing to attend ACC-19 in Belfast which will gather Anglicans from around the world to reflect on the theme of ‘Called To One Hope'.
Ordained since 1987, Canon Katharine was the first woman to be ordained deacon in the Church of Ireland. She has served in parishes in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland and is currently Rector of a parish on the east coast of Ireland and Archdeacon of Meath and Kildare.
Katharine says she is looking forward to ‘the conversations, both formal and informal which will help us to understand more about the situations in which we live and the Anglican Communion in all its diversity.’
Her prayer is that ‘ACC-19 may be fruitful in discussion and resolution, that people will listen carefully and prayerfully to each other and that the experience in Belfast and beyond will be one that energises and inspires as people return to their home regions and communities.’
