THE HOOK OF FAITH THIS WEEK

The Feast of Corpus Christ that we celebrate this Sunday is a chance to appreciate the centrality of the Eucharist in the life of the Church as ‘the source and summit’ of the whole Christian life. We have a homily and newsletter quotes. The Pope’s prayer intention for June is ‘for the values of sports’ – a timely message with the approach of the World Cup. We have ten takeaways from Pope Leo’s encyclical ‘Magnifica Humanitas’ and a reflection on ‘Living with Uncertainty’. VACANCY FOR PARISH OFFICE MANAGER

The Parish of St. Michael’s Gorey, is currently recruiting a Parish Office manager. This role is offered initially on a one year fixed term contract of 25 hours per week.

Duties include:
Providing an administrative service to St. Michael’s Parish.
Managing the parish office with the effective use of up to date office systems.
Receiving members of the public and dealing with enquiries.
Maintaining computerised accounts for the parish.
Recording and managing parish records
Be familiar with the payroll function
Requirements:

The successful candidate will have ideally:
A strong administrative background. .
Experience of the Big Red Cloud accounts package would be an advantage.
Up to date computer skills including Apple applications and Microsoft Office.
Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.

We are starting a new reading and discussion group in the Parish where people can gather in a relaxed environment to discover more about our shared and vibrant faith. We will begin with Pope Leo's recent encyclical, Magnifica Humanitas. The group is open to all, and is a great opportunity to deepen our understanding of the Catholic faith, while socialising with fellow parishioners.
