Fr Derek and the Pastoral Committee would really love to welcome as many people as possible to Garristown Church for our 120th Anniversary Mass this Sunday at 10.30am.

We are trying to make it a lovely and welcoming Mass with particular attention on including the children in the parish and celebrating afterwards with some sweets and treats for the kids and tea/coffee and refreshments for the adults.

To celebrate the 120th Anniversary of Garristown Church, we’re inviting local children to get creative and take part in our Parish Children’s Art Competition! 🖌️✨

𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝟯 𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝗳𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻! 🌈

🎨 Artwork will be displayed in the Anniversary Mass this Sunday.

🏆 Winners will be announced at our 120th Anniversary Mass this Sunday 6th September at 10.30am.

🎶 A SPECIAL FOLK INTERLUDE 🎶

As part of our wonderful recital on Sunday 16th August, we were delighted to include a very special Folk Interlude with Fr Derek and Isobel.

Their performance brought a beautiful and very different flavour to the afternoon, and was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone in the audience. ❤️🎶

We thought their contribution deserved a reel of its own - so sit back, enjoy, and relive a little of the magic! ✨

A huge thank you to Fr Derek and Isobel for sharing their talents with us. 👏🎶

🎶✨ WHAT AN AFTERNOON! ✨🎶

We are still absolutely blown away by the success of our Music Recital on Sunday, 16th August.

The response from the community was incredible, with a near full house in Garristown Church - something we were absolutely thrilled to see. ❤️

And what a performance our wonderful musicians gave us!

🌟 Bríd Ní Ghruagáin – Mezzo-Soprano
🌟 Faustina O’Sullivan – Soprano
🌟 Fiona Gryson – Harpist

The three performers were simply outstanding. Their beautiful voices, musicianship and the exquisite sound of the harp filled the church and created a truly magical afternoon. They captivated the audience from beginning to end, and their performances were met with huge appreciation. 👏🎶

We were also delighted to have a special folk interlude with Fr Derek and Isobel, who added another wonderful dimension to the afternoon with their beautiful set - posted in next reel. 🎻🎶

The audience response said it all, with a well-deserved standing ovation at the end of the recital. 👏👏👏

A huge and heartfelt thank you to Bríd, Faustina, Fiona, Fr Derek and Isobel for sharing your wonderful talents with us and giving everyone such a memorable afternoon.

And, of course, thank you to everyone who came along and supported the recital. Seeing Garristown Church so beautifully filled and receiving such an incredible response from the audience made the afternoon so special.

A near full house, exceptional performances, a beautiful folk interlude and a standing ovation - what more could we ask for? ❤️

GARRISTOWN PARISH is delighted to welcome three exceptional local musicians for a very special MUSIC RECITAL on SUNDAY, 16th AUGUST FROM 2.00pm - 3.00pm in Garristown Church.

We are especially honoured that Bríd Ní Ghruagáin, Faustina O'Sullivan and Fiona Gryson have made time in their busy national and international performing schedules to share their incredible talents with our community.

Join us for a beautiful afternoon of classical song, Irish airs, opera, harp music and a short folk interlude.
