After a week long of work in our Cemetery

Here is just a snippet of the works carried out by Parklawn Tree services, a really professional company.

Our Cemetery and the trees within have now being crowned and prunned as per Arborist report from.Arborist Noel Lane.

A huge thanks to the committee members who took time our to oversee the works carried out.
This project has been on the cards for 10 years and its now completed.

Good Evening

The long awaited work of pruning.crowning and making safe the trees in Tobar Padraic Cemetery begins tomorrow morning 20/10/2025.

This work been carried out was planned for early this year, but storm Eowyn in January 2025 caused problem for us in securing a tree surgery specialist and unfortunately the company contracted to do the work let us down.

We have now sourced a reliable company Parklawn Tree services to carry out this work.
We greatly appreciate the assistance of Galway Co Co in this matter.

This work is nesscary due to the increased velocity and the amount of storms we are experiencing in the last few years and to ensure everyone's safety and the safety of the Cemetery itself.
This work will improve the safety and tranquility of our Cemetery for years to come.

We request that anyone who plans to visit the Cemetery or their loved ones resting place over the next week would adhere to all safety notices and the direction of Parklawn tree services staff.

We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this work may cause for anyone, but we look forward to a knowingly safer and more secure Cemetery and the trees in it against storm damage in the future.

The strip of concrete went in today at the gateway of Tobar Padraic Cemetery .
The concrete should hopefully be set by Saturday but we ask you to take care until Sunday before driving over it to make sure it is completly set if possible.

Next week the RSS will finish out the work to ensure the gates close properly.

Our Apple trees for our flowerbed in the corner of the carpark are to arrive tomorrow and we hope to plant them with the RSS next week.

A huge thank you to the RSS ( Rural social scheme ) and a local committee member who gave up their time today to get this work done.

IMPORTANT

Works have commenced on installing a strip of concrete across the front gates of Tobar Padraic Cemetery . This strip of concrete will ensure that the front gates can be closed properly.

Access to the Cemetery will ONLY be on Foot from the entrance of the Cemetery until Saturday the 18th of January 2025 to allow the concrete to set.
We apologise for any inconvenience while this work takes place

Today, the RSS cut down the two trees halfway at the entrance of the Cemetery that were causing issues with the wall and our concerns that if these were not cut to size and shaped that they would eventually damage the Cemetery wall.

This completes our second plan of works for 2025 in Tobar Padraic Cemetery
