🌍 Season of Creation 2026 – Living Water 💧

Today we begin the Season of Creation, which runs from 1 September to 4 October, the feast of St Francis of Assisi. It is a time for Christians around the world to come together in prayer and action for our common home.

This year’s theme is “Living Water”, inspired by the vision in Ezekiel 47:1–12 of water flowing from the temple, bringing life, healing and renewal wherever it goes.

The symbol for this year is immersion in living water — a reminder that caring for creation calls us not to stand at a distance, but to step in, allowing God’s Spirit to transform us and inspire us to work for the renewal of our world.

For us as Franciscans, this is a beautiful invitation to rediscover the wonder of creation and our call to care for our common home.

💧 May we allow the living water of God’s Spirit to flow through us, bringing life and hope to the world around us.

“Laudato si’, mi Signore.” 🌿

Our Novices are making their first vows today in killarney, so prayers for these young men are appreciated🙏🙏

May Our Lady of Knock continue to watch over Ireland, our families and all who come to her seeking comfort and peace.

Our Lady of Knock, Queen of Ireland, pray for us. 🙏

As we come to the end of the third day of the National Novena , we look forward to welcoming you all to our Family Day at Knock Shrine tomorrow.

The day will begin with a Blessing of Families at 11am in the parish church. Games and activities for all age groups will then take place on the Basilica Green until 3pm. All activities are free of charge.

Our guest speaker at 3pm will be Bishop Kevin Doran, who leads the Dioceses of Achonry and Elphin pilgrimage to Knock.

Later in the evening, Dr Sandra Cullen from DCU will discuss faith in the era of AI at 8pm. She will also facilitate our workshop at 12.45pm.
