This year’s Aifrinn Fleadh Nua is coming together beautifully!
We’ll feature new music by John Jones, Ronan McDonagh, and Fiona Walsh, alongside timeless pieces by Seán O’Riada. We’re hoping to hear voices rising throughout the church as the congregation joins in song.
Tá Aifreann Fleadh Nua ag teacht le chéile go hálainn!
Beidh ceol nua ó John Jones, Ronan McDonagh, agus Fiona Walsh le cloisteáil, chomh maith le seancheol ó Sheán Ó Riada. Tá súil againn go mbeidh guthanna ag canadh go binn tríd an séipéal agus an pobal ag glacadh páirte.
If you’d like to be part of the People’s Choir, we’d love to have you!
Rehearsal is on Saturday morning at 10am for one hour.
Singers and musicians of all ages are welcome.
Má tá suim agat bheith páirteach i gCór an Phobail, beidh fáilte mhór romhat!
Beidh cleachtadh ar siúl maidin Dé Sathairn ag 10am ar feadh uair an chloig.
Beidh fáilte roimh amhránaithe agus ceoltóirí ó gach aoisghrúpa.
We hope to see you there!
Fáilte roimh cách!
We are thrilled to announce this year’s Aifreann Fleadh Nua, taking place on Sunday, June 1st, at 11:30 am in the Cathedral. This special event promises to be a joyous celebration of traditional Irish music and culture.
For those who would like to add their voices to the Fleadh Nua Choir, a preparatory workshop will be held on Saturday, May 31st, from 10am to 11am in the Maria Assumpta Hall. Led by Fiona Walsh, the Cathedral Choir Director, this workshop is open to everyone. With guidance from traditional singers, the choir will rehearse hymns and responses to create a harmonious blend of voices.
Musicians are also warmly invited to join the Trad Group, led by Therese McInerney of Clare FM. The group will perform lively jigs and reels before and during the Mass, adding to the celebratory atmosphere of the event.
We hope Aifreann Fleadh Nua will be a memorable occasion that highlights the richness of Irish music and culture. For inquiries, please contact [email protected].
