Kagyu Samye Dzong is a Dublin-based Tibetan Buddhist Meditation Centre, founded in 1977. It is the oldest established Buddhist Centre in Ireland, and is part of the Karma Kagyu Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. Our Spiritual Director is His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, Orgyen Trinley Dorge. In Kagyu Samye Dzong Dublin we present a wide and varied programme of activities: Meditation, Teachings on B

uddhism, regular weekly programme of silent and chanting practices, visits from Tibetan lamas, lay teachers, monks and nuns, mindfulness programmes, Tibetan medicine clinic, Tibetan language classes, interfaith community gatherings and childrens group - the 'Superheroes'. Anyone is welcome to visit the Centre - no need to be Buddhist.

The Consecration of the ground for a Stupa

Our plan for building a Stupa in the garden is taking form. During his visit, Drupon Rinpoche helped us select the best place and performed a ritual for consecrating the land.
This auspicious event was a wonderful opportunity for some of us to witness his profound knowledge in ritual and the external fields of dharma. There was also a sense that a strong bond between Drupon Rinpoche and KSDD has now been established. We are deeply grateful for all the time and effort, for teaching and advice and for all he has given to us over the three days. May his activity flourish and spread.
