Yesterday with our colleagues from the Dublin City Interfaith forum we took part in an Interfaith Prayer service to mark International Refugee Day. The event took place beside the Famine Memoral at Customs House Quay which remembers those who left Ireland as refugeees themselves
Representatives from the Baha'i, Buddhist Christian Hindu Islamic Jewish and Sikh communities came together in prayer and solidarity with the millions of refugees the world over.

Real sense of more nomal times returning . Very happy to welcome new students and visitors from Ukraine, Panama, Bolivia, Nicaragua, Somalia and Sudan this week - always heartening to see how people from very different backgrounds but on similar migrant journeys can quickly become friends and help each other with the challenge of learning English.
Laughter has no accent and no tricky grammar!

DCU’s Centre for Religion, Human Values, and International Relations, in partnership with the Irish InterChurch Meeting and the Dublin City Inter-Faith Forum came together recently to develop shared thinking on a number of public issues as a contribution to the Conference on the Future of Europe.
You can see recordings of the sessions here https://www.dcu.ie/religionandhumanvalues/conference-future-europe-february-2022 and read the final report herehttps://www.dcu.ie/sites/default/files/irin_editor/2022-05/Report_Conference%20on%20the%20Future%20of%20Europe%2C%20Feb%202022_0.pdf
The final paragraph reads " The view of participants was that churches, faith communities, and inter-faith fora should play an
increasingly significant role in the dialogue on public issues. Our report offers ideas on the concepts and organisational principles that can encourage “mutual literacy” and mutually beneficial engagement by political leaders and other stakeholders with religious actors"

We were very happy to be part of this process and look forward to more engagement on these issue
