16 May is the International Day Against Electroshock. To mark the occasion, we hosted a discussion on the subject organised by the Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR), titled “The Mental Health Industry: Help or Betrayal?”

The day brought together people from diverse backgrounds and walks of life, who shared perspectives and personal experiences on human rights in mental health.

Founded in 1969 by the Church of Scientology and Professor of Psychiatry Emeritus, Dr. Thomas Szasz, CCHR is an international mental health watchdog dedicated to protecting human rights in the field of mental health through education, advocacy, and public awareness.

We thank everyone who attended and contributed, as raising awareness and encouraging open dialogue are essential steps toward creating change.
