One Irish road trip that never disappoints - the Di**le Peninsula 😍🗺️🌊

Follow the route in our guide and you’ll cover roughly 93km/58 miles, taking in everything from dramatic coastal scenery to tiny villages, ancient sites and winding cliffside roads 🚗

You could drive it in half a day if you really rushed it, but to properly stop and explore, it’s well worth setting aside a full day 💪

A contender for one of the finest views in Ireland 😮🏔️🌊

This is the scene that awaits at Geokaun Mountain and the Fogher Cliffs on Valentia Island in Kerry - reached via a short but very steep drive to the top 😍

Better still, the car park sits right beside the viewing area, so you don’t need to tackle a long walk to soak up the view 💪

One of those places that never loses its impact, no matter how many times you visit.

These are the 618 incredibly steep stone steps on County Kerry’s Skellig Michael, once scaled daily by monks who lived on the island centuries ago 😲⛰️🙏

Do you reckon you could manage them?

A West Cork road trip worth setting aside a couple of days for this month 😍🗺️

This route spins around the Mizen and Sheep’s Head peninsulas, taking in some of the most rugged and remote scenery in Ireland 🌊🏔️

Along the way, you’ll take in the views from Fionn mac Cumhaill’s Seat, reach the edge of Ireland at Mizen Head, hike out to the dramatic ruins of Dunlough Castle and tackle plenty more 💪🍺

Tucked away along the Galway coast, it’s one of those places that feels a million miles from everything, especially on calm evenings like this 🏔️

O’Donoghue’s on Merrion Row is one of Dublin’s most famous pubs, but its story started long before the first pint was pulled 🍺🕰

The building dates back to 1789, originally opening as a grocery store before becoming a full-time pub under the O’Donoghue family in 1934.

Its name became known far beyond Dublin in the 1960s when The Dubliners regularly played sessions here, with voices like Ronnie Drew and Luke Kelly helping shape Ireland’s trad music scene 🎶🇮🇪

Over the years, names like Christy Moore, The Fureys and Phil Lynott also passed through its doors, and the walls today are lined with photographs that trace decades of Irish music history.

That towering flat-topped mountain is Benbulben 🏔️ - one of Ireland’s most recognisable landscapes, carved out by glaciers during the Ice Age and wrapped in myth and folklore for centuries.
