Friends,
This is a reminder of the 2022 letter sent by the Provincial of the Capuchin Province of Sant' Angelo and Padre Pio informing us of the value they place on the Padre Pio Healing Ministry in Ireland.

There are protocols in place, under the authority of the local Diocesan Bishops, about Ministry in Parishes, churches, shrines, and hospitals etc. All who engage in Ministry should be Police Vetted, and Safeguarding Trained.

In terms of Ministry with the relics of St Pio, the Provincial of the Capuchin Province of Sant' Angelo and Padre Pio in Italy entrust only the friars of the Capuchin Province of Ireland with the Ministry of these relics. "No other people are delegated or entrusted with carrying the relics in our name or our favour..."

On this day, the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima in 1981,45 years ago, St Pope John Paul II was shot and seriously wounded before the General Audience. Pope Leo stopped in the Pope Mobile before the General Audience today to pray at this spot. I recorded this short video last January 2025...

Throwback to Sept 1998 when Fr Alessio Parente came to Knock Shrine at the invitation of Eileen Maguire and the Irish Office of Padre Pio. Fr. Alessio was one of the assistants to Padre Pio (until Padre's death in 1968) and he came to Ireland often between the late 1970's and 2000. The Padre Pio Pilgrimage to Knock was first celebrated in 1979. Over the years it went from strength to strength.

Join us at the Capuchin Friary Church Street on the First Friday of the month (beginning Friday 05 June 2026) for 'An Evening with the Sacred Heart for Peace and Vocations'. We begin with tea / coffee at 6pm followed by a talk. The talk for June is from Br. Martin Bennett (Provincial Director of Vocations and Communications) on the 'Devotion to the Sacred Heart as an act of love'. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and prayers for peace follow the 7.30pm Mass. Spread the word. We plan to gather each First Friday in the Sacred Heart Hall of the Capuchin Friary Church Street D07HA22.

I was present in May 1999 with Eileen Maguire for this wonderful day and again in 2002 for the Canonization of Padre Pio. Eileen was asked by Fr Alessio Parente and the Friars in San Giovanni to read in English at the Liturgy. And our beloved Fr. Angelus is featured in this piece. St. Pio, Pray for us!
