We welcome the Palestrina Choir to DCU - All Hallows Chapel

Next Monday, August 17, St Mary’s Cathedral, Dublin, will close temporarily to allow essential conservation, accessibility and renewal works as part of the next phase in its development as the Cathedral of the Archdiocese of Dublin.

During the closure period, major diocesan liturgies will take place in St Andrew’s Church, Westland Row. The Palestrina Choir will be based at the College Chapel on the All Hallows Campus of DCU, by kind permission of the University. Parish and sacramental life will continue at St Joseph’s Church, Berkeley Road, where the Cathedral Girls’ Choir will also be based.

A bitter sweet day here in the interfaith centre today as Father Séamus McEntee presided over his last mass as chaplain in DCU. Students & staff past & present gathered to wish him well in his new ministry in Athy and to thank him for over 10 years of laughter, guidance, service, and faithful companionship through the journeys of life.

Our deep gratitude to our Muslim colleagues and friends in DCU for organising a farewell gathering for Fr. Séamus. We often share so much over time without realising it and thats how friendships are formed. Thank you!

A sincere thanks to Tony and Frank who represented the many DCU Helix Volunteers, for raising the generous amount of €500. This will be forwarded to Fr. Bala (Director of MPSS) in Kadappa diocese, India, who will use it to help many people involved in a variety of projects. A little goes a long way!

Great to catch up with our former Chaplain, Philip McKiney, who dropped by the Interfaith Centre today.

What a blessing it has been to celebrate the Family Mass each Sunday in St. Pat's, DCU, over the past two years.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported the Family Mass over the past 40+ years. Your faith, commitment and generosity have made it such a special part of our community.
It was with a touch of sadness that we celebrated our final Mass of the year, but I leave with a heart full of gratitude and look forward with hope to the new opportunities and blessings that await in the parishes of Athy, Moone and Narraghmore.
May God bless you all, and thank you for being such an important part of this wonderful journey together. Fr. Séamus

Saying goodbye is never easy, but today we celebrate with gratitude and joy as our dear friend and colleague, Celine, begins a wonderful new chapter in retirement from DCU.
We thank you for all you have given over the years and wish you every happiness and blessing in the years ahead. May your days be filled with light, hope, good health, and many happy moments with family and friends.
With every good wish for a long, happy, and blessed retirement.
