Congratulations to the new Dean of Christ Church Cathedral

The Archbishop of Dublin has appointed the Revd Canon Tom O'Brien to be the next Dean of Christ Church Cathedral Dublin in succession to Dean Dermot Dunne who retires at the end of August 2026. Tom is currently Minister of Crinken Church Shankill in Dublin. The appointment was announced this morning.

Making the announcement, Archbishop Michael Jackson wished Dermot and Celia all that is best in the next phase of their lives following their long–standing sojourn in Christ Church. He also wished Tom and Daniella and their family, including their dogs, the best as Tom prepares to fulfil the duties of Dean of Christ Church.
