Our Legion of Mary Young Adult Christmas Social in Myra House last Saturday was a most joyful occasion! It involved prayer, a talk by Patrick Dixon on the fascinating history of Myra House and the founding of the Legion, an inspiring talk from Br Eoin Brosnan OP on the Advent season, festive treats, a quick-fire Christmas quiz, group games and beautiful carols. Thanks to those who joined us. Wishing you all a very blessed Christmas and happy New Year! 🙏

Join us for our Christmas Social for Young Adults (ages 18 - 40) in Myra House, Francis Street, Dublin 8 on Saturday 20 December. The rosary will be recited beforehand at 4pm at the crib by the Spire on O'Connell street, which all are welcome to attend!

Fantastic weekend at the Christmas retreat in Newbridge, Co. Kildare! Here are pictures of some of those who helped with outreach at the Legion of Mary stand. We had great conversations with many young adults at the retreat and were delighted to share with them about the Legion of Mary.

Our 'On Mission With Mary' Young Adult Catholic Conference 2025 last Saturday went wonderfully!

Amazing talks and workshops were given by speakers including: Fr Michael Kennedy, Sr Mary Magdalene OP, Colette Clarke, Mahon McCann, Nicola Brennan, and Rohan Healy.

We heard powerful testimonies too from three young adult Legionaries.

Chief celebrant of the Mass in St Mary of the Angels Church was Fr Declan Lohan. The beautiful singing by two Dominican brothers of both gregorian chant and familiar hymns enhanced the liturgy greatly.

We were also given an address by Concilium President Decan Lawlor.

A lunch-time tour of Frank Duff House was of interest to many, and the opportunity for Eucharistic Adoration and confessions was also embraced by attendees. The social afterwards carried on into the night and proved a great opportunity for mingling and making friends.

Conference Workshop Leader Announcement!!!

Rohan Healy is a musician, music producer, radio DJ and business owner at Beardfire Music and MyBand. Rohan has performed at the Aras An Uachatatain, The Voice UK and on The Late Late Show to name a few. Rohan is a convert to the Catholic faith and was baptised and confirmed as an adult. He hosts Praying Twice on Radio Maria.

Rohan’s workshop is entitled: “Healing Babel – How Music, the Universal Language, Can Heal Division and foster Order, Peace and Humility.” In this interactive workshop Rohan will perform a number of short instrumental pieces and ask audience members what emotions and images each piece evokes, illustrating music's ability to draw us together and cross cultural barriers. Like Salvation through Jesus and the Good News of the Gospel, Music is for all people, a unifier that speaks directly to the heart.

Conference Workshop Leader Announcement!!!

Nicola Brennan, originally from Boston, Massachusetts, attended Ave Maria University where she completed her BA in Communications with minors in Theology and in Writing. She then moved to Belfast in 2023 where she completed her MA at Queen’s University Belfast in Media and Broadcast Production. She has since completed freelance work in production and recently discerned to join FOCUS as a missionary. She will be serving in Belfast this year!

Nicola’s workshop is entitled: “Communicating the Gospel through Media: Why is there a need and how do we do it?” Has anyone ever said to you “Religion is a personal thing- keep it to yourself!”? In this workshop, Nicola will consider how in a world of confusion and relativism, we see the need for clear, concise communication, and to proclaim the Gospel in the ever-growing environment of media.

Conference Workshop Leader Announcement!!!

Colette Clarke is an iconographer and a tutor with the Association of Iconographers Ireland since 2008. Many of her icons are included in public and private collections. She paints in the Byzantine/Greek style.

In her workshop Colette will introduce methods used in painting an icon on wooden supports using egg tempera technique. She will touch on the spirituality and symbolism used in iconography and how prayer is intrinsically woven into the process of making icons.
