A truly uplifting and joyous occasion this morning as we welcomed Archbishop Michael to St Mary’s Clonsilla to commission the team from our churches and community who will travel to Cambodia to serve in partnership with Habitat for Humanity Ireland in July.
In his sermon the Archbishop encouraged the parish for their support of Habitat and their commitment to mission. We were reminded that we were all part of the trip, this who travel and those who stay. We live out Habitats mission of shelter, strength and hope through sometimes our words but more often how we respond to our neighbours and those neighbours we are yet to meet.
After lighting a candle that will be lit to remind those who stay as the team travels the Archbishop commissioned the team and all present to go and serve.
Members of the team took part in the service and the Choir sang a beautiful anthem “A New Commandment I give Unto You.”
Following the service we enjoyed refreshment and fellowship together.

Rev’d Colin had the privilege of representing our team who will travel in partnership with Habitat for Humanity Ireland at Habitats Building Hope night celebrating local and global volunteers. It was an evening of wonderful celebration of the work of Habitat in Ireland and worldwide. Rev’d Colin was presented with a candle with a prayer for our forthcoming mission.
The candle will be lit in Clonsilla on Sunday morning when Archbishop Michael comes to commission the team in a special service.

Tiny Tots rounded off a brilliant year with their Teddy Bears Picnic this morning in Castleknock Parish Centre raising €320 for Bernardo’s Children’s Charity.
The hall was packed with little ones and their parents and carers who all had a great morning mixing together.
We said goodbye to to a number of children who “graduated” to pre school. Along with their Tiny Tots Certificates they also received some special artwork. Many thanks to one of our parents Sarah Wickham for her fabulous prints that she donated to the group for all today’s graduates. This was an extremely generous gift for our Tiny Tots. Check out her amazing work Sarah Wickham Designs - 🖌️🎨 Bespoke Irish Artist
We all want to thank Louise and our brilliant team of leaders for everything they give to Tiny Tots.
We’ll be back in September!

A wonderful morning at Castleknock National School as we officially launched our solar panel project as well as raising our newly earned Active Schools Flag.
We were joined by Minister Jack Chambers, Deputy Emer Carrie, Deputy Roderick O’Gorman, local representatives, Rep from Ecoplex who provided the solar panels, members of the Board of Management and our Parents Association who secured funding for the project.
Following a very impressive demonstration from 3rd Class on solar energy, which was greatly received by our guests Rev Colin welcomed the Minister and other guests to the event, reminding us that the solar panels and Active Flag fitted in with our school mantra of being kind to both the environment and ourselves. Minister Chambers spoke warmly of the sense of community in our school and how this project in partnership with Ecoplex showcased the potential and importance of finding newer greener ways to power the country. Following a brilliant rendition of our schools anthem Minister Chambers hoisted the Active Schools Flag with the help of the Active Schools Team.
