The Lutheran Church in Ireland has been in existence in Ireland for 300 years and belongs to the worldwide communion of Lutheran Churches. It maintains a special relationship to the „Evangelische Kirche in Deutschland“ (EKD). A large majority of our members and friends come from German speaking regions in Europe. Today more than 3000 Christians of German Lutheran and Reformed background live on the island of Ireland. The mother parish is in Dublin, where the Pastor is based. Divine Service is held in St. Finian’s Church, 24 Adelaide Road , Dublin 2. Lutheran Worship Services with Eucharist are held every Sunday at 11am in St. Finian's Church. Services are in German except the last Sunday morning of each month, which is in English. The first Sunday of every month is Children / Family Service in German. Additional evening worship services in English are held at 6pm mid-month, dates as announced in our newsletters. If you wish to join our English or German-language email lists, please contact [email protected]. Regular services in German also take place in Sligo, Galway, Limerick, Killarney, Cork, Wexford, and Castlepollard. On the last Sunday of every month, the Pastor holds a Lutheran service in German in the Moravian Church,University Road, in Belfast in Northern Ireland.

Our Prädikants Yvonne and Frithjof attended an advanced training in Cambridge. While they got an interesting talks about the four Gospels, they got lessons on using the voice more efficient. Learning was one important aspect but meeting Prädikants from UK, The Hague, Lanzarote and Bejing and to hear about their lives in their German Churches and cities was interesting and important as well. Both say thank you to the course leaders Kerstin from Cambridge and Sebastian from London.

We wish our Jewish friends in Dublin and across Ireland a happy, peaceful and sweet New Year 5787.

For many decades, there have been close and valued ties between the Lutheran Church in Ireland and Dublin’s two Jewish congregations. These connections have a particularly tangible history: until 1999, the old synagogue was situated just a few houses away from St Finian’s Lutheran Church.

Today, we continue this friendship through our active engagement in Christian-Jewish dialogue and our shared involvement in the Dublin City Interfaith Forum (DCIF).

At a time when dialogue and mutual understanding are more important than ever, we are grateful for the bonds that connect us.

Fáilte, willkommen und ein ganz herzliches Willkommen an Carolin!
Heute, am 1. September, war Carolins erster Tag als unsere neue Kirchenverwalterin – und wir könnten nicht begeisterter sein, sie bei uns zu haben
Diese neue Stelle besetzen wir dankbar zum ersten Mal, was zeigt, dass unsere Gemeinde lebendig ist und stetig wächst. Es ist ein spannender neuer Schritt, nicht nur für Carolin, sondern auch für uns als Gemeinde. Sie wird das Herzstück unserer Verwaltung sein und für viele eurer Anfragen die erste Anlaufstelle sein.
Wir freuen uns sehr auf alles, was vor uns liegt, und darauf, Carolin als Teil unserer Kirchengemeinde und unseres Leitungsteams zu haben. Wir wünschen ihr Gottes Segen und alles Gute für ihre neue Aufgabe

Wir laden herzlich zur Jahreshauptversammlung und Wahl eines neuen Kirchenvorstandes ins Lutherhaus ein. Das Datum ist der 13. September 2026, und sie findet im Anschluss an den Gottesdienst statt.
Ordnungsgemäße Einladungen an die wahlberechtigten Mitglieder wurden pünktlich verschickt. Gäste sind ebenfalls sehr willkommen.

After work it's time to party.
In good tradition we'll come together to start the new season of church life. As we connect the activity day and the BBQ we'll start earlier. Everyone is welcome and helping with the cleanig is not precondition to attend.
We would love if everyone brings some nibbles to eat for her- and himself and others. A salad can accompany you. The church provides drinks and saussages (no vegan option by the church).
