Seeds of Loss
We carry the seeds of loss within us,
buried beneath the silence,
where memory sleeps
and longing whispers.
In the beginning,
they seem to yield only sorrow.
But grief has its seasons, too.
The love we cherished
does not wither when someone leaves us.
It settles deep within us,
becoming part of the soil
from which we learn to grow.
And slowly,
almost imperceptibly,
the landscape begins to change.
Tears become rain.
Memories become sunlight.
And what once ached
slowly becomes something gentler.
One day,
we may find a garden growing there,
not untouched by sorrow,
but made more beautiful
by having known it.
A place where grief
and gratitude grow together,
where remembrance has roots,
and love still reaches
toward the light.
And in time we come to understand:
to carry loss
is not to carry only pain.
We carry the love as well,
the love that remains,
even when the one we loved
is no longer beside us.
For even in the soil of grief,
life is never entirely still.
Beneath the darkness,
roots are reaching
Beneath the silence,
something is stirring.
And in its own time,
the heart remembers
how to bloom.
