Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make Fr Paul’s 75th birthday and most memorable occasion. It was great to have Fr Paul’s sister and brother with us. It was lovely to see so many of our parish groups come together to facilitate the special day.

The Publication of Pope Leo XIV’s First Encyclical,
Magnifica Humanitas (The Grandeur of Humanity)

Pope Leo XIV, published his first encyclical, Magnifica Humanitas (The Grandeur of Humanity), reflecting on the opportunities and challenges of Artificial Intelligence. The Pope reminds us that technology must always serve humanity — protecting human dignity, truth, relationships, work, peace, and care for our common home.
He calls on governments, educators, businesses, families and all people of goodwill to work together so that AI promotes justice, inclusion and genuine human flourishing rather than division or inequality.
A powerful reminder that while technology advances, our deepest hope remains rooted not in machines, but in the God-given dignity of every person.
“Humanity – in all its grandeur and woundedness – must never be replaced or surpassed.” — Pope Leo XIV

ARCHBISHOP FARRELL – PASTORAL LETTER
Archbishop Farrell’s Pastoral Letter for Pentecost, Come, Holy Spirit, Fill Our Hearts with the Fire of Your Love. The Archbishop’s Pastoral Letter introduces a Process for the Modification of Parishes for Mission.
This Pentecost Letter puts before the Diocese a process which provides for initial reflection in parishes on their future. This process also sets out the formal steps to be taken, together with the Archbishop, when new parish structures and relationships are being considered... I ask Parish Pastoral Councils and Partnership Pastoral Councils, through prayer, listening, discernment and decision-making, to find together a way into the future for their parishes locally.
In the Holy Spirit, we are called to let go of what was, and open ourselves to where Christ is leading us, to embrace the hope God has for us and for all creation... Now is the time, in prayer and reflection, to deepen the renewal which has been long underway among us.
