Berkeley Road Parish - St Joseph's Church Welcome to our Parish page. We are a Roman Catholic Parish in the Archdiocese of Dublin. We are currently celebrating a year dedicated to Saint Joseph.

BAPTISM

The Sacrament of Baptism will be celebrated on the First and Third Saturdays of each month at 12:00 noon. Baptismal request forms are available from the parish office.

SHALOM MINISTRY

A Sunday evening Youth Mass commenced on last Sunday, September 6th at 5 p.m. The liturgy will be animated by the SHALOM Community.

FEAST OF OUR LADY OF PENAFRANCIA

The PPC welcomed news that the Filipino Community will hold, once again, the Novena of Prayer (nine days commencing on Friday, 11th September) and celebration in preparation for the Feast of Our Lady of Penafrancia concluding on Sunday, 20th September.

SOME PHOTOS of our Parish Pilgrimage to Knock, Sunday, 06 September 2026

Forty-seven parishioners had a very memorable experience on this day. We left the parish at 8:30 a.m. and arrived back at 8:40 p.m. We stopped both ways at Feerick's Hotel for hot scones and tea/coffee in the morning and a very sumptous meal in the evening.
There were twelve wines being raffled.
We attended the healing service at 2:30 p.m. and a Holy Mass thereafter with St. Mary's Cathedral Choir.

Thank you to both Des and Pauline for organising.

PARISH CHOIR

The parish choir of St.Josephs Church, Berkeley Road, Dublin 7 returns to rehearsal on Wednesday August 26 at 7pm in the church. New members are always welcome. We sing at the 10am Mass on Sunday mornings.

WELCOME, FR. KIERAN!

The new Administrator of Berkeley Road Parish, Fr. Kieran McDermott, begins saying Mass in the Parish this week (17th August) as Fr. Paul takes a break.

Fr. Kieran first looked after the then Pro-Cathedral Parish, then undertook managing the Gardiner Street Parish after the Jesuits opted to withdraw from parish ministry.
Fr. Kieran must also now take over being the Administrator of Berkeley Road Parish.

Let us pray for him.

Please note that in this coming week, the Parish Office will open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from about 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Next Monday, August 17, St Mary’s Cathedral, Dublin, will close temporarily to allow essential conservation, accessibility and renewal works as part of the next phase in its development as the Cathedral of the Archdiocese of Dublin.

During the closure period, major diocesan liturgies will take place in St Andrew’s Church, Westland Row. The Palestrina Choir will be based at the College Chapel on the All Hallows Campus of DCU, by kind permission of the University. Parish and sacramental life will continue at St Joseph’s Church, Berkeley Road, where the Cathedral Girls’ Choir will also be based.

The Diocese takes invalids to Lourdes. If you would like to help in this, we invite you to subscribe to the Lourdes Invalid Fund and make a contribution. Your Name will be included in the intentions each day at the masses celebrated during the Pilgrimage which takes place on September 3-8, 2026.
