1 Kings 3:19-20

It was during the night that the woman's living child was exchanged for a dead one. In the same way, there are times when God gives us ideas, visions, and opportunities. However, if we become careless or fail to act on them, we can allow those ideas to fade away and die.
The same principle applies within families. Sometimes parents only realize that something is wrong with their child when it is too late to correct the situation. This often happens because they failed to notice the warning signs at the time they first appeared. They were not attentive when intervention was needed, and by the time they recognized the problem, it had already grown much more difficult to address.

Our confidence in God is in the knowledge that he already knows what we need.

Jesus is drawing our attention to this idea that if you are going to be in pursuit of anything in prayer, let it be the pursuit of a revelation of what God has already done for you, and a revelation of who you are in God.

Once you know this, it changes your approach. Your prayer requests become fewer and your desire becomes to manifest as a child of God.
