"....…and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat....." - Josh. 6:20
The story of the fallen walls of Jericho in Joshua 6:1-27 is one that vividly demonstrates the miraculous power of God, His faithfulness to His word, His grace and mercy, His severity and the surety of His word.
After wandering for forty difficult years in the Sinai desert, the Israelites now on the eastern banks of the Jordan were face with a huge challenge: taking over Canaan, the Promised Land. To take possession of this land, there were several obstacles and top on the list of these obstacles was Jericho, an unconquerable city whose stone wall was 11ft high and 14ft wide. Humanly speaking Jericho was impregnable.
In the face of this predicament, God appeared to Joshua with a seemingly foolish plan to conquer the city of Jericho. Joshua was instructed to have the people march around Jericho without a word, not even a whisper for six days, and after seven circuits on the seventh day, they were to shout.
Joshua recognized God as their partner in this battle, followed His instructions to the letter and when the people did shout on the seventh day, the massive walls collapsed instantly and Israel won an easy victory.
As we prepare for this Covenant Day of Open Doors service, you may be facing some kind of walled city, a seemingly unconquerable situation and victory appears absolutely impossible. It may be a "type" of Jericho that positions itself against our capability to possess our possessions in Christ; simulated strongholds that hinder our spiritual progress such as weakness in our character, materialism or some life-dominating pattern, a difficulty at the place of work or at home, a physical infirmity, a financial burden; it may even be indifference to spiritual things.
We serve a miracle working God that is greater than any obstacle, stronger than any barrier and able to move any mountain. He excels in doing the undoable, thinking the unthinkable, making possible the impossible, the inexplainable, the unbelievable. He does not confirm your feelings, sentiments or tears; God confirms His word. This Sunday, come ready to see God fulfill His word concerning you as you PRAISE your way to SUPERNATURAL VICTORY.
Every closed doors shall be opened on their own accord in Jesus mighty name. Remember to come also with your bottle of oil because the anointing breaks the yoke.
