Worship and Word Bible School:

THE GOODNESS OF GOD

Romans 2:4 NKJV
Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?

The keystone of our knowledge of the Father must be concentrated on the goodness of God, otherwise we will question His goodness when things don’t work out the way we want it to.

There’s a fight to take hold of the sheer goodness of God, a fight to contend for the goodness of God, notwithstanding of the forces pressing against us, trying to make us doubt His character, will and purpose for us.

The riches of His goodness is referring to God’s character towards a man. So when God displays His riches towards a sinner, what the sinner experiences is His goodness. The Lord doesn’t treat us the way we are but the way He is.

Isaiah 59:19a says - So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun.

The fear of the Lord comes by the Revelation of His goodness.

We have seen in our world today war, chaos, distresses and perplexities, wars and rumours of wars, and some may conclude that disaster must always happen to make people fear the Lord. But in the last days, the people shall fear the Lord because of His goodness.

Many will begin to be exposed to the realities of His kindness, generosity and liberality that pours out of the father’s heart and this exposure will create a premise that engenders faith against the influence of fear and apprehension drawing them into intimacy with the Lord.

Let’s Pray: Dear Father, thank You for the riches of your extraordinary kindness towards me. Thank You for the liberality of the wealth of Your extraordinary generosity afforded to melt my heart and lead me into repentance.

I contend for Your goodness today and take a stance to believe right, love right, and trust you rightly.

In Jesus matchless name, Amen.

Worship and Word Bible School:

HARP AND BOWL

Revelation 5:8 KJV

“Now when [Jesus] had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.” (Revelation 5:8)

In this vision, John sees the heavenly worship as Jesus takes the scroll which will unleash the seven seals in preparation for Christ’s imminent return.

Worship and prayer is often called Harp and Bowl. And the focus is Christ himself.

Throughout scripture, there is a consistent agreement between prayer and worship starting from Jesus taking the scroll to the father, the elders agreeing, the Angles agreeing and we are agreeing.

Our songs and prayers are directed toward God, as we bring our petition before him, we are asking God to move in accordance with His Word and desires.

We do this by synchronising our prayers in the Bible with the expression of worship through rhythm, harmony, melody, and sounds..

We start by expressing agreement with God’s Word and what He says about the problem or situation. The Lord is faithful to His Word, and it will not return to Him void until it has accomplished that for which it was sent (Isaiah 55:11).

Worship and prayer will also be part of God’s plan in drawing many sons to himself in intimacy

So whenever God receives our worship, our prayers also goes before him simultaneously as sweet incense, which are the prayers of the saints received directly in the throne room of God..

And so in Revelation 8, we see the Angels take the censer with the prayers of the saints and put a fire in it from the altar and cast it back to earth. This fire is a shield to ensure that our prayers takes delivery of whereunto the prayers has been sent for accomplishment..

Let’s Pray: Father I thank you for the insights that I am able to approach you in worship and with my prayers. Thank you for the revelation of Harp and Bowl which typifies how heaven agrees with you, how the Angels agrees with you, and how we are agreeing with you, declaring, yours is the kingdom, yours is the power and yours is the glory forever and ever
Amen.

Topic: Beholding Jesus

2 Corinthians 3:18 KJV
But we all, with open faces beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

In Exodus 34:29-34, when Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in his hands, the Bible says that his face was radiant from being in the presence of the Lord.

Moses then put a veil over his face to keep the people from being terrified by the brightness of his face.
The veil kept the people from articulating and understanding the person of Christ and the encounters as unveiled unto Moses.

When anyone becomes born again and receives the life of Jesus in their heart, the veil is taken away, and they are given eternal life and freedom from the old system and the law’s curse. Hence, that person can now be like a mirror, reflecting the glory of God.

Through the Holy Spirit, God provides freedom from sin and sin consciousness, fear and condemnation no longer have a foot hold on the believer, the identity of that believer is unveiled and he becomes the radiance of the glory of God.

As we continue to behold his glory and beauty, we become free to live for him and come into a deeper realisation of being loved, forgiven, and accepted in the beloved.

Let’s pray:

Dear Lord, thank you for I have been made to reflect your glory, beauty, grace, and love. Thank you for giving me your word and your Spirit to enable me to see myself the way you see me. Thank you because the challenges and circumstances of life will not distort my vision and understanding of my identity in you.
Thank you for removing the veil by virtue of your finished work on the cross for me. I keep on beholding you, my Lord, today and forever.

Amen.

Topic: The Beauty of Stillness

Isaiah 30:15 – For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel: In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.

The deeper our worship and our veneration of the father, the quieter our soul, it’s in this place we are deeply immersed in the realities of his glory and his majesty, where singing turns to deep sobriety, contemplation, sobbing and pouring out before his presence.

The beauty of stillness is simply allowing the Lord to speak into our hearts while we receive the pleasure of fellowshipping in his presence.

Pentecostalism is often being clothed with charisma and exaggeration—marked by loudness and activity.

This dynamic to an extent does reveals a powerful aspect of God’s nature. However, in our zeal, we must not overlook the sacred place of silence, contemplation, and meditation.

There is an unmatched delightfulness and joy, in experiencing the calmness of the Spirit. It opens up channels of deep contemplation where Christ becomes our utmost longing and desires of our heart.

Being in his presence, it may not be loud or busy, but it is beautiful, essential and very Christocentric.

Let’s pray:
Dear Lord, thank you for calling me into a place of rest, calling me to model stillness as part of my walk with you.

Lord may you continue to be the utmost longing of my heart, and as I present myself before you every moment of my walk with you. May I continually experience the joy and delight of knowing you and being in relationship with you in Jesus name.

Amen.

Topic: The Power of Thanksgiving

Scriptural focus: 1 Thessalonians 5:18 KJV
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Thanksgiving improves the quality of our service unto God. The more we are full of gratitude, the more it positions us for a renewed concentration before the Lord, the more you are thankful to God, the more it energises you to present yourself a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable before the Lord.

In this teaching Apostle Paul was not saying to thank God for everything that happens to us, for evil does not come from God. But we are to thank God in everything, in the joys and trials, in abundance and lack, that he will work out his good in the midst of the perplexities and distresses.

See: James 1:17 KJV
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

Thanksgiving should not just be a reaction, but a lifestyle, it should not be just what we do, but who we are, it should not be based on circumstances, but on revelation of who God is.

The Lord is calling you today to offer Worship and thanksgiving from your heart. Honour him with joy and deep gratitude. He is looking for true worshippers to arise, he his searching for those who will worship him in spirit and in truth.

Let’s Pray: “Father, I thank you in Jesus name, for the thoughts that you think towards me are good thoughts and not of evil, to give me a hope and a future.

Thank you for the lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places and I have a goodly heritage. Thank you for the work you have begun in me. I come into fruition, being established and fulfilled in all the will of God in Jesus name.

My heart will forever rejoice in all that you’ve done for me, and thanksgiving will continually be my lifestyle and my way of life in Jesus name.
