Topic: THE SEAL OF THE HOLY SPIRIT Part 2
Ephesians 1:13 KJV
In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise
The greatest gift given to every believer is the Holy Spirit. He is not a feeling, an emotion, a force or influence, he is the third person of the Godhead, fully divine and eternal and plays a major active role in the life of a believer.
The Holy Spirit is teaches — John 14:26, he speaks - John 16:13, he has emotions - Ephesians 4:30, he has a will — 1 Corinthians 12:11, he Comforts and helps believers — John 14:16, he his God — Acts 5:3-4
When does a believer receive the seal?
Ephesians 1:13 reveals the order.
• When the Word of truth is heard
• When the Gospel is believed
• You are then sealed by the Holy Spirit.
The seal of the Holy Spirit distingues true Christianity from false religion. This seal is what approves that what we have believed is not in vain, he amplifies, confirms, and bears witness with our spirit that we are the sons of God.
At the point of regeneration, something remarkable happens, the Lord gives us a new heart by the Spirit. Not a reburshied heart but a brand new heart.
See — Ezekiel 36:26 KJV
A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
You’re not somebody who have suddenly become religious, you’re a new person sanctified unto God, and sealed by the Spirit. Halleluyah.
Let’s pray:
Dear Lord, I thank you for your perfect sacrifice on the cross for me, I rejoice in the fact of being redeemed, justified, forgiven and sealed by your Spirit.
I have the ability to disengage fear, perturbation, anxiety, uncertainties, discomposure, vexations because my life is hidden in you.
I am filled with your presence and power unto a new life in you and with you. My life is completely changed through the sanctification of the Spirit to live unto Christ forever and ever. In jesus Name.
Amen.
