Danny (White Tam) Friel.

The death has taken place of Danny Friel, Gortnatra, Kerrykeel.

Predeceased by his parents John Patrick and Margaret, brothers John Patrick Jnr, Michael and James and sisters Bridie and Margaret Rose.

Deeply regretted by his daughters Sinead (Letterkenny), Ciara (Letterkenny) and Kellie (Australia), their mother Josie and his partner Sylvia Purcell and family.

Sadly missed by Ciara's husband Noel Mc Elwaine and their children Amy, Ryan and Ruairí, and Kellie's partner Max Houssenloge and their son Jack.

Deeply missed by brother Eamon (Gortnatra) and sister Mary Clinton (Lagboy, Tamney), by James' wife Sheila, Mary's husband Shaun Clinton, his nephews and nieces David, Pamela, Caroline, Aisling, Denis, Shaun Paul (Johnny), Mark, Vanessa, Nadine, Shane, Kelly and Daniel, his
extended family, neighbours and his large circle of friends.

Funeral arrangements to follow

I am sending a gentle reminder regarding the upcoming Liturgy gathering that will take place on November 12th 2023. The RSVP deadline is today, 27th October 2023.

The details of the event taken from the recent letter by Bishop Alan McGuckian to the parishes of the Diocese are as follows:

EVENT:

On November 12th we will gather for Mass in the Church of the Irish Martyrs, Letterkenny at 2.30pm. After Mass we will retire to the Clanree Hotel for a meal and some good Conversation about our vision for Liturgy in the diocese.

I would be grateful if you could please share this invitation with all your choir members and Ministers of the Word and the Eucharist.

In recent years other valued members of parish choirs and Ministers of Word and Eucharist will have gone to their reward. If there is someone you would like to have remembered in the Eucharist in November, please send their name or even a memorial card to the Diocesan Office by October 27th.

For catering purposes, it would be helpful if we had an idea of numbers attending by the same date.

The schedule for the afternoon is as follows:

2.00pm Gather to prepare for Eucharist

2.30pm Eucharist

3.45pm - 5.30pm Meal and Conversations

Sheila Friel

Birch Grove, The Lagg, Milford, Donegal, F92 K4X2 / Fanad, Donegal
The peaceful death has taken place of Sheila Friel (née Heraghty, Coshia, Fanad). Deeply regretted by her loving husband James Edward, daughter Denise, sons Joe, Edward and Barry, daughters-in-law Anita and Ailbhe, son-in-law Ross, grandchildren, extended family and friends. Predeceased by her sisters Mary and Brigid, and brothers Michael, James, Patrick, Charlie, Denis and Joe.

Sheila’s remains will be reposing at her home from 5pm, Tuesday, 17th October. Funeral mass in St. Mary’s Church, Fanavolty, F92 VC57 on Thursday, 19th October, at 12pm with burial afterwards in the adjoining graveyard. Rosary both nights at 9pm. Family time please from 10pm to 11am and on the morning of the Funeral. Donations in lieu of flowers, if desired, to Fanad Care of the Aged, c/o any family member.
