It has been a long and difficult time since lockdown began. Covid 19 has really tested our faith and resilience, We are all saddened by the closure of our Church and we are missing the experience of community gathering in our parish.
Thank God , there seems to be an end in sight.
However, much hard work will be required if our Church is to reopen on July 20th. The Parish Pastoral Council have spent much time, by Zoom meetings, studying Archbishop Martin's directives for the safe opening of all churches.
The standards required for social distancing and proper sanitizing are very high and the Archdiocese requires that we submit a detailed account of our plan. If this cannot be done on time, it may not be possible to reopen.
The most important thing for us is that, when our Church reopens, we have done everything possible to ensure the safety of all who enter.
The Parish Pastoral Council are seeking volunteers to help put in place and maintain correct procedures. We will need teams of people to ensure correct social distancing, circulation routes and sanitizing before and after every Mass.
We would love if you would join us.
If you are available, please get in touch as soon as possible.
We have 8 weeks to organize and train our teams.
