Saint Mary's Dominican Church and Priory Cork The Dominican community at Saint Mary's Priory in Cork city is home to seven friars and five novices. The priory was erected soon afterwards.

The Dominican Order was founded in 1216, and the first friars arrived in Cork just thirteen years later. The Dominicans in Cork have lived in various parts of the city but settled in our current location in 1830's when the present church was built. The formation of young Dominicans has been a ministry of the community since the 1930's and that continues today.

Join us in St. Mary's for a 4 week Lenten course by Fr. Philip Mulryne, OP, "I Call You Friends", an introduction to the Catholic theology of grace. What is an angel? Why do we pray to them? Should I seek to find out my angel's name? What are demons and how did they end up as they are? Answers to these and many more questions at ANGELS & DEMONS, an Introductory Course in Catholic Angelology, taking place in St. Martin's Chapel at St. Mary's, Pope's Quay, on the 4 Mondays of Advent (beginning 1st Dec), at 7.30pm. This course will be given by Fr. Chris Gault, OP, of St. Mary's community. The cost is 50 euro for all 4 weeks, or 15 euro per night.
