“Sun of righteousness” is an interesting name for the “Son of God” (John 1:49; 3:18, 36; 6:69; 20:31). Why would the Lord Jesus Christ be called the “Sun of righteousness”? Well, the sun gives us many things, and these things are a good picture of the Lord Jesus Christ. Recently, we had a week of lovely sunny weather, and it lifted the people’s spirits. When you know the Lord Jesus Christ as your Saviour, He gives you joy and peace. The “Sun of righteousness” comes with healing, and that is exactly what Jesus came to do. He came to heal us from our greatest problem, and that is our sin. Matthew 1:21 tells us Jesus “shall save his people from their sins”. The Lord Jesus willingly laid down His life on the cross. Although Satan, the Jews, and the Romans sought to put Him to death, no power could keep Him in the grave. The tomb was sealed and secured with a guard, yet it could not hold Him.
The payment for sin was fully paid, and Jesus’ resurrection proves He is God the Son and that His sacrificial death is sufficient to pay for your sins. He is risen and has power over death and Hell!

As we come up to St. Valentine's Day, we begin to think about love. Everyone wants to be loved, but sadly, there are many who don’t feel loved. Even if no one in this world loves you, know that God loves you! He proved His love by sending His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to die for your sins. God wants you to receive His love by repenting (having a change of heart about your sins offending God) of your sins and receiving, by faith alone, the Lord Jesus Christ as your Saviour.
