🏅 Pope Leo’s Prayer Intention for June 🏅

This month, Pope Leo invites us to pray that sport may be a powerful force for good in our world, promoting peace, respect, solidarity, and friendship among peoples and nations.

Sport has the unique ability to bring people together, to build bridges across cultures, and to teach values that help us grow as individuals and communities.

Let us join with the Holy Father in praying that all who participate in sport, at every level, may foster understanding, teamwork, and mutual respect.

Lord, guide our hearts to build a more united and compassionate world through the values we live and share.

Today we celebrate the feast of St Columba (also known as Colum Cille) from Donegal.

He went on to found monasteries in Derry, Durrow, Iona and Kells before leaving Ireland to become a pilgrim for Christ.

He is noted for his great love for people and for all living creatures - he is a Secondary Patron of Ireland - we ask his intercession for the Church in Ireland today.

St Columba, pray for us 🙏🏻

The Parish of Ballymacoda & Ladysbridge will be celebrating Youth Mass on every first Monday during the summer months in Muintir Mhuire, Ballybutler, Ladysbridge.

They would like to invite the young people of our Parish and Diocese to join us in the Celebration of the Eucharist.

This will be a wonderful opportunity for us to pray together and for fellowship afterwards.

Today June 7th, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ is also known as the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, which translates from Latin to "Body of Christ."

This feast calls us to focus on two manifestations of the Body of Christ, the Holy Eucharist and the Church. The primary purpose of this feast is to focus our attention on the Eucharist.

Our worship of Jesus in His Body and Blood calls us to offer to God our Father a pledge of undivided love and an offering of ourselves to the service of others..
